00:00What is your overall evaluation DRS of the AFC West entering 2024?
00:08It's pretty simple.
00:10Two of the teams have really good quarterbacks.
00:12That's the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers.
00:14The other two teams, the Raiders and the Broncos, don't have very good quarterbacks.
00:18So that's where you see the separation here at the Fandu Sportsbook.
00:21The Raiders at a 9-1 price to win that division.
00:23The Denver Broncos at a 20-1 price to win the division.
00:26But let's focus here on Kansas City.
00:28And I can't stress this enough.
00:30You're not supposed to be good for a long time in the NFL
00:33because just based on how the NFL evolution is,
00:36most players don't play 10 to 15 years outside of dominant quarterbacks,
00:40which again, is Patrick Mahomes.
00:42But players slow down.
00:43The salary cap is supposed to catch up with you.
00:46Each and every year that you have a good season,
00:47the NFL says, okay, congratulations on your good season.
00:50We'll set you up with the hardest schedule next year
00:52and also give you the worst draft pick of the first round, second round, third round, and so forth.
00:56But the Kansas City Chiefs continue to buck that trend.
00:58And last year was the year to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
01:01They didn't have any wide receivers.
01:02They just had Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
01:04They didn't have home field advantage entering into the playoffs.
01:07They had to go on the road and beat a Buffalo Bills team and a Baltimore Ravens team
01:10and then go in and probably face the most talented team in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers,
01:14without any wide receivers that you can say are maybe a Pro Bowl caliber level in the next couple years.
01:20Now they reamped up.
01:21You go into the draft.
01:22You get yourself a wide receiver.
01:23You get that free agency.
01:25You get yourself a wide receiver.
01:26And now you still have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
01:29So this year is a better version of last year's Kansas City Chiefs that won the Super Bowl.
01:34So you're not, again, I say this as a handicapper that's been doing it a long time.
01:38You're not supposed to do this.
01:39But how many times can you continue to look at the Kansas City Chiefs with a healthy Patrick Mahomes
01:44and not honestly believe they're the best team in the NFL?
01:47They don't have the best team overall.
01:49They have Mahomes and Reid and a supporting cast.
01:52That's good enough for me.
01:53They'll win this division, and they'll run away with this division.
