Hunters are now allowed to kill more bears that are identified as "dangerous" to local residents, but critics say it's more about allowing hunters to go after them as trophy.
Transcript
00:00So far this year, the authorities have killed 30 problem bears and they've allowed hunters
00:05to shoot another 11.
00:07And after a few bear attacks last year, the far-right environment minister says he's going
00:12to allow hunters to shoot even more.
00:14But ecologists are in uproar.
00:17They say not enough is being done to stop bears wandering into towns and villages, such
00:21as making rubbish bins bear-proof.
00:24And the World Wildlife Fund says the best approach is to ensure bears are not attracted
00:28to human settlements in the first place.
