00:00Manchester City's pre-season tour of the United States began with a 4-3 defeat to Celtic

00:06in North Carolina.

00:08A first-half brace from Nicholas Kuhn and smart Kyogo Forwashi finish meant City went

00:13in behind at the break despite Oscar Bobb also finding the net.

00:17With Celtic's Scottish Premier League season getting underway in just over one week, their

00:21extra sharpness initially told in the Kenan Memorial Stadium's North Carolina heat.

00:27A defiant second-half display, spearheaded by the irrepressible Bobb, pulled City level

00:31though with Maximo Peroni and Erling Haaland both on target, but the Scottish champions

00:36found a winner through substitute Luis Palma.

00:39It was harsh on City, but the sight of Academy products Jamai Simpson-Pusey, Jadal Katongo,

00:44Joel Nadala and Nico O'Reilly all making their senior debuts provided a major positive in

00:49our pre-season opener.

00:51WHAD happened with Haaland named captain, Pep Guardiola named a starting XI with a strong

00:56mix of experienced internationals and exciting Academy talent.

01:01Youngsters Simpson-Pusey and O'Reilly were each handed their senior debuts from the start

01:06and the latter almost grabbed the game's opening goal inside three minutes when he fired into

01:10the side netting after a swift counter.

01:13But despite that bright start it was the Scottish champions who would take the lead ten minutes

01:17later.

01:19It was sparked when Kuhn found some space down the City left and raced towards goal,

01:23firing into the far corner despite pressure from Josh Wilson-Esperand.

01:28Celtic had enjoyed the early exchanges, with their additional minutes so far in pre-season

01:32showing as Guardiola's men gradually began to find our feet.

01:37The next big chance would fall our way though, with former City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel

01:41pulling off an excellent reaction save to deny Haaland.

01:45The individual battle between our captain and the Celtic stopper continued with the

01:49Dane pulling off another phenomenal 1v1 stop as Haaland tried to chip home but City were

01:54beginning to find our rhythm as the half-hour mark approached.

01:58And the pressure told soon after when O'Reilly's clever cutback was dummied by Haaland into

02:02the path of an unmarked Bob.

02:05The Norwegians' effort had the sting taken out of it by the onrushing Schmeichel but still

02:09had enough power to trickle into the Celtic net for the equalizer.

02:14But the scores were only level for a few minutes with Kuhn once again finding the net after

02:18being fed down the right before fainting inside and curling past Ortega Mourinho.

02:24Kuhn almost turned provider soon after when he cut the ball back into the path of Rio

02:27Hadate but the Japan international's first-time effort flew the wrong side of the post, much

02:32to City's relief.
