00:00Well at this early stage what we know is that two men aged 29 and 30 years old
00:06have both died in the helicopter crash in WA's Kimberley region. Now what we
00:11know is that at about 6.30 this morning four cattle mustering aircraft took off
00:17near Mount Anderson station in Camballon which is a cattle station about 300
00:22kilometres east of Broome. It's believed that shortly after those four
00:27helicopters took off two of them collided. Now what we know at this stage
00:32and what we've been told by police is that there was one pilot on board each
00:36of the aircraft and both of those men died from their injuries during the
00:41crash. So police will be preparing a report for the coroner and we've also
00:46received a statement from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau which says it
00:50will be deploying a team of transport safety investigators from its Brisbane
00:54and Canberra offices to the site. They will be expertise in aircraft operations
01:00and maintenance. It's also said in its statement that it will release a
01:05preliminary report detailing the facts in about two months time. So
01:10investigators will be speaking to witnesses but what we do know is that it
01:14is a small tight-knit community in a remote part of WA so there is no doubt
01:20that this tragedy will be felt far and wide.
