Torrential rains have caused widespread flooding in Pune, resulting in the tragic loss of 4 lives. Authorities have initiated large-scale evacuation efforts due to the deluge. District data shows significant rainfall, with Lonavla receiving 300 mm, Lavasa 417 mm, and Junnar 214 mm in just 24 hours. Tragic incidents have been reported, including the electrocution of three young men near Bhide Bridge and a fatal landslide in Adharwadi village. Near Lavasa, a mudslide trapped three individuals from Dasave village. Rescue teams are actively engaged in these areas. The release of water from Khadakwasla dam has exacerbated flooding along the Mutha river and surrounding regions. Responding swiftly, the Indian Army has deployed troops, engineers, and medical personnel equipped with rescue boats to Ekta Nagar for relief operations.
