00:00Keep your eyes very well, he is him, he is lazy in his work as you can see but very happy
00:27with him, everything has went well since Ascot, yeah so far so good.
00:30He is a lot of class this horse, he is a lot more class than anybody thinks, he does stay
00:35which is unusual but he has a lot of class, like he would have no problem being a group
00:39horse over a mile and a quarter, really those good stayers are very rare, when you go past
00:45those distances very few horses get them really and he has the class and gets the trip as
00:49well.
00:50Like obviously we don't ever want to take any chance with him, we owe him a lot more
00:54than he owes us really, at one stage we didn't think he would live, it looked like he was
00:58going to get through that part of it, then we had to teach him how to use his joint so
01:04he had to learn how to walk again, when he started walking he had to walk on a very slow
01:09treadmill with bales on either side of him to stop him from falling over so that will
01:13just tell you from where he came from, it's incredible really, I never thought he would
01:17race ever again.
01:18If the ground was very fast in Goodwood then we will have to think about whether we will
01:23risk him or not, but hopefully it will be fine and he will run, but if he didn't, Pint
01:28Lansdale is going to be an unbelievable sub, he handles fast ground, he is sure that he
01:34gets a mile and seven very well and there is every chance he could get two miles, so
01:38he is a horse with a lot of class as well and obviously we saw his last run he wasn't
01:42beating very little over a mile and a half in a group one, so he is a lovely horse, great
01:46mind, great mover, everything about him is lovely.
01:49On to Wednesday, Henry Longfellow is an exceptional horse, he hasn't got his head in front this
01:53season but is he set for the rematch in the Sussex Stakes?
01:56Yes, the first day in France was a non-event really, so we just put a line through that
02:01and when that happens you don't learn much, so you kind of have to go to the next race
02:05and obviously then we went to Ascot and it was a massive run, so we learned a lot about
02:08him in Ascot and we are looking forward to him in Goodwood.
02:11We always thought he was a very special horse, what he did last year and if we had got a
02:15better, clearer run in France we would have known more going into Ascot, so really we
02:21went to Ascot and we were learning but we were very happy with his run and looking forward
02:26to him the next day.
02:27And do you think you will stick with a mile with him this season or could you see him
02:29stepping up?
02:30Possibly he could but he is low to speed, he is not slow, there is every chance that
02:34he will stay at a mile but he can step up and it depends on what the lads decide and
02:39want to do themselves really.
02:40And then on to Thursday, Opera Singer, she ran such a fantastic race in the coronation
02:45at Royal Ascot, how pleased were you with that run?
02:47Yes, we were delighted, very happy, Ryan just fell to Ascot, the other horse that led just
02:51messed up his pace a little bit but we were over the moon with her, we were always going
02:56to step up to a mile and a quarter to go to the Nassau after that and that is the plan,
03:00everything has went well since and we are looking forward to seeing her over a mile
03:03and a quarter and she will probably even go further.
03:06Another of your three rods, Jan Brugel, is he a possible winner at Gordon Stakes?
03:10Yes, that is the plan, he is a lovely horse, he scored two mile and a half, it was a mile
03:14and a quarter last day, we always thought he was going to stay and could stay further,
03:18I am very happy with him, relaxed, laid back horse, he has had two lovely runs this year
03:21so very happy with him.
03:23And a possible stepping stone to the St Leger as well?
03:25Exactly, that is what we were thinking, we thought it would fit in lovely into his programme.
03:28And then on Saturday, the Lily Langtree, maybe great for her, is that a possible runner?
03:32Yes, that is the plan, she is a Galileo filly, she is obviously the last of the Galileos
03:36out of Teppan, she is the most incredible pedigree, we were delighted it was the last
03:39day that she stepped up in distance, she was still green when she got to the front rowing
03:43and he thought that she was going to come forward again, so that is the plan hopefully.
03:47And Goodwood is a special track, you have had some amazing days, what was your earliest
03:51memory of Goodwood?
03:52Oh gee, I suppose Yates is always a big one in Goodwood.
03:56Young again here at Goodwood, the winner in 2006, he is going to win in 2008, a Steyr
04:02in a million, the supreme Steyr, a brilliant Steyr, Yates wins with tremendous class.
04:09Goodwood is a special track, special atmosphere, special place, unusual track, it tests the
04:15horse in every way, it is left, right, up, down, great atmosphere there, people are lovely,
04:19it is just a very special place and I think glorious Goodwood describes it to a T really
04:25and I think you have to go see it to really appreciate it.
