00:00Middlesbrough defender Darrell Lenehan made his long-awaited return from injury in a pre-season friendly against Gateshead.
00:07I still think I still need to get, I'm not there yet, let's say that, but I'm getting there. I've been training for the last number of weeks.
00:16I just need to hit that sharpness, but I'm sure that will come the more I train, the more I play, but it's just a stepping stone.
00:23I've only played 45 minutes, it's kind of yet to build up naturally.
00:27Lenehan then reflected about his time on the sidelines.
00:33It's a mental, it's a physical challenge. I remember the first six weeks after I got my operation, I was lying on the couch for 55 minutes of every hour for the first two weeks of that.
00:43So, no, it's difficult, but I look at it as a positive. It's challenged me in different ways, but I'm sure that I'll be able to take that onto the pitch over the next couple of months.
00:55The Irishman scored the only goal as Middlesbrough beat Gateshead 1-0.
