00:44and I was freaking out going,
00:46oh my God, I've got to sing this.
00:47And I didn't know it and I didn't know I had to sing today.
00:50He was like, hold on, and we just asked for like,
00:53he said, let's ask for just 20 minutes.
00:55He got his guitar out and we sat there
00:57and we worked it out.
00:59And he was the most brilliant accompanist
01:02and we just figured, and it was him
01:04who really gave me the confidence to go,
01:06because I have to belt it.
01:08It's terrible that I can't, it's a very famous song.
01:10It was just happens to be,
01:11and I grew up singing in jazz clubs.
01:14That was my, and I'd never sung the song
01:16and I didn't really know it.
01:17I kind of had it.
01:18Did they know this about you?
01:19They knew that I could sing.

01:22It was amazing.
01:23But jazz specifically?
01:24Jazz specifically, yeah.
01:24It was wild and amazing,
01:27but also what is so brilliant about vocal performances
01:32is that you, it runs the gamut.
01:34I mean, I know it's this idea of,
01:36well, it's so much easier when you're not relying
01:39on the way that you look,
01:41but actually it's so much more specific.
01:44You've lost all these other aspects
01:47of illustrating your work
01:48and you really have to hone in
01:50and certainly singing is a pretty good way of doing that.
