00:00Okay, so what do you have here?
00:05Everyone is talking about what are the O's going to do?
00:07The O's seem to have a war chest of options.
00:10Everyone thinks they should go after pitching.
00:13Your thoughts, Joseph?
00:15I agree with everyone else, if that's what they're saying.
00:18Everyone else is saying pitching, yes.
00:19And El Scobal is the guy that everybody wants him to go after.
00:22I just don't know if they're the best fit.
00:23I talked about this yesterday on In Game Lime with Joe Ranieri, where we were talking about,
00:29what would a deal look like for the Tigers and the Orioles?
00:33And the problem is a lot of those middle infield prospects that they have from the Orioles side,
00:38it kind of clogs up with the short Tigers already have in their pipeline.
00:41Guys like Cole Keith that they like, they're already playing.
00:43So they've got Torkelson in the infield that I think is going to get another shot here
00:46sooner than later.
00:47And I think that's kind of a weird fit.
00:49I don't think the Tigers are going to move Scobal unless somebody really backs up the
00:53truck.
00:53And I just don't know if that right combination of prospects and team matches up.
00:58But there is a team I think that matches up well and a scenario that matches up well for
01:03the Orioles.
01:04And I think it's Garrett Crochet.
01:05Garrett Crochet is a pitcher that you can sign to an extension and you can lock him
01:09in for a while here.
01:10And that's what he wants.
01:11And it's what he should get considering how good he's pitched this year.
01:14Do you have concerns about him going into September, October?
01:16Of course you do.
01:17But you have to rely on the size, the 6'6", 250 frame.
01:21And that's a big boy.
01:22And you have to hope that he is just okay to keep plugging away.
01:25And so far, he hasn't really shown a lot of signs of fatigue at all.
01:28I know July hasn't been as good as May.
01:31But with the all-star break, you got to take everything with a grain of salt.
01:34Guys are kind of off-kilter a little bit, plus all the trade rumors heating up.
01:38So with Crochet, maybe a trade that looks something like this, where the White Sox get
01:43a star, which is something they need desperately, in Kobe Mayo.
01:47And they can plug and play him immediately at third base.
01:50Get a guy like Connor Norby, who goes in right away.
01:53Also, Major League Ready talent.
01:55You don't want guys, if you're the White Sox, that you have to wait three, four years on.
01:58You want somebody that you can play this year or next year as a starter.
02:02So if you have Kobe Mayo, Connor Norby, Cade Povich, I think that would bring back Garrett
02:07Crochet.
02:07And I think that is a huge win for both teams.
02:10The White Sox get their rebuild guys that are Major League Ready.
02:13The Orioles can keep Jackson Holliday, can keep Heston Kierstad.
02:17They still have a lot of guys left.
02:18Now, if they want to just back up the whole truck and put those guys in a deal and get
02:21Luis Robert, too, okay, that'd be fun.
02:23But Crochet burns Grayson Rodriguez for the next two to three years.
02:29Matt, that is a very formidable rotation that screams we are in it to win it in this window.
02:34And I think the Orioles fan base deserves that.
02:36And I think Garrett Crochet is the right fit for this organization, too, to bring in that
02:41big power lefty guy, I think would be absolutely huge.
02:44And my goodness, I don't think people want to face that kind of rotation if everyone
02:47was healthy come October.
