00:00In the Department of Education, more than 16 million students in elementary to senior high school enrolled in public schools this school year 2024-2025.
00:11As of July 28, that's the data.
00:14The most in Calabarzon, with more than 2.3 billion enrollees.
00:18Next is Region 3, with almost 1.9 million.
00:21And in the National Capital Region, with more than 1.7 million.
00:25Here in Batasan Hills National High School, there are almost 16,000 enrollees this school year.
00:30That's lower than last year because this school year, they don't have a grade 11.
00:35So now, their school opening is fine.
00:38The only issue that every year is a problem for all schools in the Philippines is congestion.
00:44That's the reason why, aside from the temporary dissolution of grade 11,
00:47they have blended learning here.
00:49There are online classes and modules that are used to accommodate the students who enroll here.
00:55Here is the statement of the principal of Batasan Hills National High School.
01:01As suggested by the SDO, we will decongest.
01:05So what we did is, we referred all of our incoming grade 11 to other public schools.
01:12So now, they are in front of other public schools nearby.
01:16So now, your enrollees are smaller?
01:19Yes, compared to previous years, we are now lower by more than 2,000.
