00:00Frank, in less than two weeks, we saw two historic events.

00:05One, Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt.

00:08Two, President Biden stepped out of the race.

00:11So, given the seismic nature of these events,

00:14has everything we knew about the election,

00:17or thought we knew about the election, out the window now?

00:20Yes.

00:22I keep saying to people privately,

00:25and you're the first person I'm going to acknowledge this to,

00:29I'm an idiot.

00:31I don't know right now, and nobody knows.

00:33And all these pontificators who said that this is,

00:37yes, it's historic, yes, we've never seen this before,

00:40but that's the point.

00:42We've never seen this before.

00:44So, we need to listen and learn before we pontificate.

00:50And to see all these people on cable news

00:55declaring how great the situation is, they don't know.

01:00They're speaking under their own preferences.

01:03They have no understanding of the electorate

01:06because we just don't know.

01:08And that's what I've been doing over the last 48 hours.

01:11That's why I'm so tired.

01:13I will have it figured out, I hope, by this weekend.

01:16But we are in uncharted territory.

01:19Half of the campaign has completely changed.

01:23The language that Donald Trump was going to use

01:25is no longer appropriate.

01:27You can't speak to Harris the same way you'd speak to Joe Biden.

01:31And the Trump campaign better figure that out

01:33because they're going to be punished if they don't.

01:37And quite frankly, those of us who pride ourselves

01:41in being able to prognosticate should be a little bit more quiet

01:46and a little bit more humble for a little while longer.

01:50Well, that's good advice as always.
