00:00The National Task Force of the West Philippine Sea
00:03has revealed the statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry
00:06regarding the inspection of the China Coast Guard
00:08in the Roremission.
00:10Patrick De Jesus has the story.
00:14In the Rotation and Resupply, or Roremission, this Saturday,
00:17four ships of the China Coast Guard,
00:21three PNA Navy,
00:22and two Chinese Maritime Militia were seen
00:25based on the video released by the Philippine Coast Guard
00:28that the so-called ships remained far away.
00:31The PCG said that the distance of the Chinese ships
00:35was between one and five nautical miles
00:37from the rented civilian vessel of the AFP,
00:40the MN Lapu-Lapu,
00:41and the escort vessel of the PCG,
00:43the BRP Cape Inganyo.
00:45It was only proven
00:47that the statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry
00:50regarding the inspection of the China Coast Guard in the Roremission
00:53was not true.
00:57Most importantly,
00:58we will not allow them to inspect
01:01the cargo of our resupply boat
01:04because, as the Department of Foreign Affairs said,
01:07whatever agreement is reached in this provisional understanding,
01:11it is not prejudicial to the interests of both countries.
01:17The Department of Foreign Affairs
01:19also opposed the statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry
01:22regarding the successful rotation and resupply, or remission, of the Philippines
01:27According to the DFA,
01:28instead of recognizing the interests of both countries,
01:31the tension was eased.
01:33It seems that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China
01:36chose to ignore the agreement.
01:38The DFA clarified,
01:40the so-called agreement
01:42is not to affect the position of the Philippines and China
01:46on the issue in the West Philippine Sea.
01:48Therefore, it will not help
01:50to give false information about this.
01:53The DFA added,
01:55the Philippines will continue to be a contestant
01:58in our Exclusive Economic Zone, or EEC,
02:01and the legal implementation of activities here.
02:04The presence of the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal
02:08which is a commission naval vessel,
02:10is in accordance with the sovereign rights
02:13and jurisdictions of the country.
02:14Therefore, the DFA hopes that China will follow the agreement.
02:19The National Security Council also insisted
02:21that the Philippines will never say goodbye
02:24to the implementation of the RORI mission
02:26and other activities in the West Philippine Sea.
02:30When we negotiated with China,
02:33we did not give any compromise.
02:36In other words, we assured the interests of our country.
02:41So, to those who say that we lost here
02:45or that we left our position in the West Philippine Sea,
02:50no.
02:50What we want to happen here is
02:54not to be violent or violent.
02:59Or aggression.
03:01And that's what happened.
03:02The government hopes that the next RORI will remain peaceful
03:08under the provisional understanding
03:11and there will be no harassment from the Chinese ships.
03:15We are still optimistic that this arrangement will last long
03:20where it will be peaceful, not tense,
03:24and we will be able to deliver supplies to our soldiers
03:29because it is a routine and a legitimate resupply operation
03:36of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
