The local SWAT team assigned to help protect Donald Trump during his July 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania had no communication with the Secret Service agents in charge before the assassination attempt. The SWAT team lead sharpshooter, Jason Woods, says they were supposed to have an in-person briefing with the Secret Service, but it never happened. Woods criticized the lack of coordination and communication with the Secret Service during an incident, noting that their first interaction occurred only after a shooting.
