00:00This is the 10th year for the Giwa Barley Forum and it's great to be here in Western Australia
00:04for it. Today we were talking about Australian barley production and market opportunities
00:09and market diversity. Awesome and a good turnout today? Phenomenal turnout. I reckon Giwa will be
00:15really proud of all the people that have attended. I think you've got an array of East Coast people
00:21that have come across so that gives you the significance of how valued this meeting is.
00:26And a diversity of attendees including growers, breeders, agronomists, all sorts of scientists.
00:31You've got the whole value supply chain there as you're right you said university people,
00:35you've got GRDC investment, you've got private consultants, you've got brewers, monsters,
00:38traders, storage and handlers and logistics and they're also from both East and West so that's
00:42a great combination. And there's also people watching online that couldn't make it so it's
00:46a popular forum. There is and it's great to have them online as well. So everything's about barley
00:52and we've got a good year coming up with looking at barley production you know typically hitting
00:5611.5 could even be 12 million hectares that we're going to produce and we have quality barley going
01:01into Latin America into those Latin American countries like Mexico, Peru, Ecuador and we've
01:06got a lot of barley going into China. So we're back up there at about 80% which they are buying
01:11a combination of malt barley, FAQ barley and feed barley.
