Woman removes barnacles from a horseshoe crab on Assateague Island
Victoria Klender and her mom spent a day at Assateague Island, exploring the shoreline.
During their adventure, Victoria’s mom discovered a horseshoe.
She carefully scooped up the crab, brought it over to her chair for a closer look, and began to scrape off the barnacles, revealing the crab's smooth shell underneath.
It was a satisfying task to watch as the crab was cleaned and prepped for its return to the ocean.
Once the barnacles were removed, Victoria’s mom released the horseshoe crab back into the sea, where it swiftly disappeared into the waves.
