PEP Covers featured star Sarah Geronimo remembered the times when she was starting in showbiz.

The kiddie shows she and her parents Mommy Divine and Daddy Delfin went to, the long lines for auditions, the bullying.

Sarah remembered it all when she talked to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) between breaks during her photo shoot for the entertainment website.

But amid the heartbreaking memories, the Popstar Royalty said she is still grateful she went through it all.

00:00That's all I dreamed of when I was a kid, in front of a mirror.
00:04Mirror, mirror, mirror, mirror.
00:07I'll read that.
00:14Not a lot of people know that I started joining show business at the age of,
00:20my mom said at the age of 5.
00:22But what I remember is that I was 6 or 7 years old.
00:26All the TV shows, KTTV shows,
00:31my mom and my parents tried.
00:33My mom and dad and I would go around
00:36singing contests in the barangay.
00:40I remember I also had a commercial before,
00:43but what I only saw was the tip of my hair.
00:46I experienced long lines in auditions,
00:51and a lot of rejections.
00:56There were also bullying when I was younger.
01:00Until now, it's still there.
01:03But it's also nice to look back.
01:10I know in my heart that I went through all of that for a reason.
01:17It taught me a lot about my character.
01:22It helped build my character as a person, as a woman.
01:27And of course, seeing our industry now,
01:30everything is an instant success.
01:33So when I look back at how my journey has been in this business,
01:40I'm thankful that I went through all of that.
01:43I, as a person, have a perfectionist side.
01:46So I admit that I still have complaints about myself,
01:50about things that I want to do for my career, for myself as a person.
01:56But I still have a grateful heart.
02:00I have a grateful heart because I went through all of that.
02:04And I am very, very blessed.
02:08As I said in one of my interviews,
02:11I consider every opportunity that was given to me
02:16to work with only the best in the industry.
02:20The best choreographer, the best choreographers,
02:24the best musicians, songwriters, actors.
02:29All of the artists in this industry,
02:33I'm sure not everyone,
02:35but the ones that I worked with,
02:37I am very lucky that they are the ones that I worked with.
02:42I don't feel like,
02:46I don't feel like,
02:49wow, I've come a long way.
02:55More of like,
02:57wow, this is what I dreamed of when I was young,
03:01with my parents, with my family.
03:03And now I'm here, I've reached
03:06how it feels like to be,
03:10let's say, a recording artist, a movie star, an endorser.
03:15All of the things that I dreamed of when I was young,
03:18in front of the mirror,
03:20mirror, mirror, mirror, mirror,
03:22I was able to achieve that.
03:24And it came true. I'm so grateful.
