How is the music ticket market contributing to the UK economy?
Transcript
00:00Three quarters of a billion pounds was invested in local businesses.
00:06This is outside of the ticket purchasing.
00:08So you can think about the fan that goes to an event in London, or maybe they travel up
00:13to Liverpool, and what they are willing to invest in local businesses around the event.
00:20So maybe it's going to dinner, it's the travel to location, it could be the hotels, it could
00:24be they buy merchandise from artists and things like that.
00:28And it's a material impact in what it does.
00:30It also supports about 8,000 jobs in the UK, and this is per annum.
00:35Think about your own personal antidotes of when you go to live entertainment.
00:38You know, you want to make a whole event out of it.
00:41It's not just about the two and a half hours or three hours at the gig or the sporting
00:46event.
00:47People will value live entertainment through and through, and I don't think that that's
00:51ever going to stop.
00:52Being out, you know, going to the event, being in the atmosphere, adding to the atmosphere
00:56is very, very valuable to people.
00:58And I think that's only going to increase over time.
