00:00You may have seen glowing eyes in your meme days lately. It's been a photoshop meme for a long
00:04time. When people started deep frying their memes and images, the laser eyes just made sense
00:09alongside it. You usually put it atop a human, but sometimes even like an animal. A squirrel,
00:14your grandma's 12 year old dachshund, that woodpecker that doesn't shut up all day.
00:17Regardless, it's meant to mimic a comic trope in media. The glowing eyes. Heck,
00:21you see Homelander and Billy Butcher on the boys doing that all the time. In 2010,
00:25Mass Effect 2 was released, and in that game, enemies' eyes would glow yellow when assuming
00:29direct control. The internet took note of all this, all the millennials running the web,
00:33and started adding glowing photoshopped eye to random animals and characters like this gray cat.
00:38Before long, TV Tropes started a page for the trope glowing eyes, and they described it as
00:42someone showing off their life energy or indicating they've gone super mode, which is what I do
00:47whenever someone mildly inconveniences me. You probably remember this ancient meme that still
00:50belongs behind a golden frame at the world's greatest art museum. By the way, memes probably
00:54will be in art museums in the future, so look forward to that.
