00:00and living in the big city for most it's the most ideal because
00:03easily accessible to everything but the pandemic reshaped our perspective
00:07about this and many of us in the province
00:10chose to live. Now just this year, Mikkel and Megan
00:14decided to live in Subic. So what's the reason for this
00:17big move? That's what we'll find out here in Mars
00:21Sharing Room. So first question, when did you decide to live in Subic?
00:26I feel like it was before the pandemic that we decided to live in Subic
00:30because that's where I grew up, that's where I studied growing up
00:32That's where we got married. Yes, so it was a very special place in our
00:37hearts, Subic. And I grew to love the place.
00:40I fell in love. I think I'm more in love with Subic than with Bones
00:43at this point. So the vibes are just so good.
00:47It's just relaxing, especially knowing that all of your friends are there.
00:51So it made sense that when the pandemic hit,
00:54everyone worked from home. We said, you know what, let's enjoy this
00:58because this is the time that we can enjoy your hometown. The idea was there
01:02but because of the pandemic, let's make it happen. Let's make the move.
01:06And then up until now, we worked on what we envisioned that even now
01:09work is coming back, we need to go to Metro Manila. It isn't a bad
01:13drive. It's a fun drive because the highways are wide,
01:16it's just going straight. It's a really nice highway. Yes, it's a nice drive.
01:19Wake up at 4 a.m. 4 a.m. best time to drive.
01:22Especially if you're going to ride a motorcycle. It's really fun to ride from Subic to Manila.
01:25I have to try that. You need to teach me how to do that.
01:28Do you agree? Yes, let's do it together.
01:31Let's do a back ride. We learned how to ride a motorcycle in the province.
01:37Just recently. Just recently, a few months ago.
01:39I love it. That's your entry, Mikael.
01:43I can't do it in Metro Manila.
01:45In the province, I'm sure you guys also encountered challenges from making the big move.
01:51So, what were those challenges? I guess being away from family.
01:56Because now, it's easier to go to each other's house.
02:01Now, we can't do it spontaneously. We can't visit each other.
02:05So, that's a bit more difficult, especially our siblings.
02:08They're starting their own families as well, of course.
02:10So, I guess that's the give and take there.
02:13Yeah, but the plus point there is if they can visit us,
02:16we have space to accommodate the family.
02:20And whenever they visit you, it's a vacation for them.
02:22Yes, it's fun.
02:23If you open the door at the back, you can see the forest right away.
02:28And there's a lot of chogos, right?
02:30There's a lot of monkeys there, right?
02:31There's a lot of monkeys in Subic.
02:33Yes, a lot.
02:34I got chased by one.
02:36I would say it's a challenge, right?
02:38Yeah, it's a challenge. I got chased by one in high school, actually.
02:40What is the best thing about Subic?
02:42I think the best thing about Subic has to be the vibe.
02:46That's really the number one.
02:47What vibe are you talking about? What vibe is this?
02:49Relaxing, chill vibe.
02:52I guess the noise pollution isn't as much as the city.
02:55Like, we talked about it yesterday.
02:57I said, the noise pollution in Metro Manila is really bad.
03:01Because everybody's out and about.
03:02Everybody's moving.
03:03You can't avoid that.
03:05But when you're in Subic, what you hear is the wind, the birds,
03:10just nature in general.
03:11That's all you hear.
03:13And it's so different, really. It's so relaxing.
03:15To add to that, the vibes that Bones is talking about,
03:17it's what you see, what you hear, and what you feel.
03:20So just looking at the mountains, the horizon, no buildings,
03:23what you hear, birds, and nature, and then what you feel.
03:26It's like the air is fresher.
03:28Which I think would be true.
03:30It's true.
03:31There are a lot of trees.
03:32And actually, they have a lot of areas that kids can visit.
03:39It's like an eco-tourism.
03:40Like, they have a big safari.
03:41There's just one thing that's missing in Subic.
03:43What is it?
03:44Our future coffee shop.
03:46That's our dream.
03:47You can ride a motorcycle over the weekend.
03:49We will serve you, Kuya Kim, anytime you are there.
03:52These are the coffee peaks.
03:53Me and Drew, we love coffee.
03:55We got you, guys.
03:56We'll make you a cup of coffee, one of these days.
03:58There you go.
03:59We'll hire you here in Mars Pamor.
04:01Actually, you know what, Kuya Kim?
04:02What I want to know is, during the pandemic,
04:04because you guys were there during the pandemic,
04:05and you guys would also come back here,
04:07actually, what were the things that you could enjoy there
04:08that you couldn't do here?
04:10To be honest, what we experienced in Manila,
04:13it's the same in Subic.
04:14Because we are really homebodies.
04:16So, we don't go out.
04:18We don't need to, you know,
04:20earn money and socialize with other people
04:22for, I guess, our everyday lives.
04:25So, I guess, for us, it was kind of the same, right?
04:28The only difference is the noise pollution
04:29and the nature.
04:30But to your question,
04:31I mean, the cases go up and down,
04:34just like anywhere else in the Philippines
04:35or anywhere in the world.
04:36But that's it.
04:36Because we stay at home only,
04:38so we are insulated.
04:41And then if you're into sports,
04:42then you get encouraged.
04:43Because Subic is the triathlon capital of the Philippines.
04:45And we can swim, bike, and run.
04:47Yes.
04:48I get to run outside anytime.
04:51What was something major
04:53you guys learned about each other?
04:56Oh, I think…
04:57Let's do a deep dive now.
05:00I realized that
05:03Mikael really enjoys household chores.
05:09Because he's always relaxing.
05:11No, no, no.
05:12In fairness,
05:14he's always zoning out.
05:15I saw him washing the dishes.
05:17I told him,
05:18enjoy yourself.
05:19Then he was like,
05:20huh?
05:21Yeah.
05:21Then he went back to his usual routine.
05:23I'm just enjoying life.
05:24I'm just enjoying life.
05:26Because it's not like I'll lose it.
05:28I think that's what happened in that story.
05:31There was one point for,
05:32I think, three months,
05:33when Bones and I were alone
05:34along with our baby, Soba.
05:36Yes.
05:36And she was super into her games at that time.
05:39So I said, you know what?
05:40It's okay.
05:40Just relax.
05:41I'll do the chores.
05:42And I just enjoyed it.
05:43Because I said,
05:43What a catch, man!
05:45Life is so simple, right?
05:47Did it have a big impact on you
05:48that Pars is into chores?
05:49It's true, Bale!
05:50It's true!
05:51Because it's Megan!
05:52At least I'm relaxed.
05:53Thank you so much!
05:54There are so many things to learn,
05:55Pars,
05:55that's what we're looking for.
05:56Hey!
05:57There it is, I love it!
05:58Oh no!
05:59It's coming in!
06:11Ha!
06:12Who got it?
06:13I got it, I got it!
06:15Megan!
06:15It's Bones!
06:16Megan, Megan, Megan!
06:17It's Bones!
06:17Okay, are you ready?
06:19Okay, Megan.
06:20Your guesting on an Indonesian Friday show
06:22went viral again recently,
06:25where you were laughing so hard.
06:27Are you willing to explain to us
06:29the foreign words that made you laugh?
06:33Yes or no?
06:34Yes.
06:35Okay.
06:35Up!
06:38Can you guys play?
06:40Can you play?
06:45Okay, so why are you laughing?
06:47What are these foreign words?
06:49Okay, so I'm sure for those who watched
06:52this episode on an Indonesian show
06:54that I guested on,
06:56you already know why you're laughing, okay?
06:59I don't need to explain that anymore.
07:01But when I asked my Indonesian friend,
07:04why did they say this?
07:05Because in our language,
07:06it means something.
07:07Ah, because it's in Tagalog.
07:09Yes.
07:10It sounded bad.
07:11It sounded very bad.
07:12So being in a foreign country,
07:14and I heard that,
07:15I was surprised because
07:17why are they saying this on TV, right?
07:19Okay.
07:20But apparently,
07:21my Indonesian friend said,
07:22because of their accent,
07:24it sounded differently.
07:26And it sounded to sound like these words.
07:28Very, very bad.
07:29Very, very bad.
07:30But apparently, she was saying a fact,
07:34like F-A-C-T,
07:35what is the fact of the show.
07:37So you're going to be open about the facts
07:40in the show today.
07:42So it's like open something.
07:44Yes.
07:45Open the fact.
07:46Open the fact.
07:47Just not said very well.
07:48Open the fact squared or something.
07:50Yes, exactly.
07:52I get it.
07:52So that's the simplest explanation
07:55that I can give.
07:55I'm sure they're surprised
07:57why you're laughing.
07:59They don't know
08:00because my friends are Indonesian.
08:01So what was their reaction?
08:02I already told you.
08:03I told you.
08:03But I'm sure they were thinking,
08:04what's that?
08:05What's so funny?
08:06I didn't notice it.
08:07But I explained it to the Miss Indonesia
08:09that I was with at the pageant.
08:10I said,
08:11girl,
08:12I don't think it's nice
08:14for us to say that.
08:16But nothing.
08:17I couldn't do anything.
08:18And then eventually,
08:19after like seven years,
08:20that video went viral again
08:22because of TikTok.
08:22Wait, so did you say it?
08:24I didn't say it.
08:25She told me.
08:26I said, huh?
08:29No.
08:31Oh, Em.
08:32That's funny.
08:33There.
08:33Well, thank you for sharing.
