00:00I talk about the big beating heart of Torbay and South Devon, this is an organisation that
00:06really cares about its place in society.
00:11We're one of the first integrated organisations, so we deliver a breadth of care, hospital
00:15based care, community services, social care.
00:18Being part of a multidisciplinary team means that you're able to look at every aspect of
00:23a person's needs, so you're able to focus holistically rather than just on one individual
00:28need at a time.
00:29This is a lovely place to work, we've got beautiful surroundings and internally our
00:34environment is really supportive.
00:36If we're going to deliver care better, we need to look at new ways of working.
00:40What technologies of tomorrow are actually going to be useful in the here and now?
00:44Torbay punches above its weight when it comes to these areas.
00:47As soon as I walked through them front doors, it felt like a family coming here again.
00:52I think you have to be a special type of person to work up there.
00:55That's how you'll make me cry and now you're going to end up with tears on the camera.
01:01I'd never kind of joined an environment where I just felt comfortable from the get go.
01:06That value that is attached to every single member of our staff and the people who support
01:10us I think is what makes us special.
01:14Some people have only been there a few months, some people have been there years, but it
01:17doesn't matter because we're all strong together.
01:19I love the variation that we get every day, it's a really close knit team that we work
01:23with, we all pull together really well.
01:25We have a lot of fun together, there are times where if you didn't laugh you'd cry.
01:30There's two main things that make me love working in Devon.
01:33One is the cohort of patients, they're gorgeous.
01:36You've got the young ones, you've got the older cohort that really appreciate the care
01:40that we give.
01:41They're so busy, so many people, but they still seem to find time.
01:47I really felt as if, you know, I mattered.
01:51My hospital family who really want to provide a high standard of care.
01:57The best kind of part of the job is actually going out and building those relationships
02:00with those people that need that care and support.
02:04It's one of the most rewarding jobs you can do.
02:06There's no better satisfaction than this job and I know that sounds cheesy.
02:10You cannot do this job if you don't love caring.
02:13It makes me really proud to work with these midwives day in day out who come out and make
02:18that difference.
02:19It is hard sometimes, but what would we do without the NHS, eh?
