00:00Oliver and Duck are great western engines. They deliver goods and passengers when the roads are closed by deep snow.
00:14Oliver thinks snow is messy and cold.
00:19I'm a great western engine, he chuffed one day. I shouldn't have to shiver.
00:24Begging your pardon, Mr Oliver, said Toad, but I think snow is splendid.
00:30Harumph!
00:32Later, Oliver saw some children building a giant snowman for the winter festival.
00:40Each time Oliver passed by, the snowman grew bigger.
00:46And bigger.
00:54And bigger.
01:00And bigger.
01:03Just an observation, Mr Oliver. Snow is magical.
01:08Pah!
01:15Finally, the snowman was complete.
01:21Oliver chuffed back to his warm, cosy shed.
01:27The fat controller was waiting for him.
01:31You have to return to the mountain village. Some goods are needed for the festival.
01:38But all this snow makes my wheels feel chilly.
01:42Really useful engines work hard, whatever the weather.
01:50Soon, Oliver was loaded and on his way.
01:54The snow was cold. It had frozen the points and diverted Oliver into the station sidings.
02:01Oh, shiver my boiler, cried Oliver.
02:07His driver applied the brakes.
02:11Is there a problem, Mr Oliver?
02:15Yes!
02:19There is!
02:22That could have been a little smoother.
02:26Oliver felt awful. He thought the children would be upset about their snowman.
02:34Oliver's driver went for help.
02:38The fat controller was just leaving his office when he got the call.
02:44Meow!
02:46Duck will bring the breakdown crane first thing in the morning, he said.
02:52Oliver's driver returned and told him the news.
02:55I'll be out here all night, moaned Oliver. I'm afraid so.
03:02Luckily, the village inn had a toasty warm room for Oliver's driver.
03:07But Oliver was getting colder and colder.
03:13His fire had gone out and his funnel was covered in icicles.
03:17I was right all along. There's nothing magical about snow.
03:24Toad was beginning to think Oliver might be right.
03:31Next morning, the children saw the situation.
03:36Look, a little girl shouted. Our snowman has eyes in its tummy.
03:41No, it doesn't, laughed a little boy. It's Oliver.
03:46That gave the children an idea.
03:49When Oliver woke up, he was surrounded by happy children.
03:53Oliver's a wonderful snow engine, they cried.
03:57Oliver was so relieved that suddenly he didn't feel cold anymore.
04:08When Duck arrived with the breakdown crane, Oliver didn't want to leave.
04:14He was enjoying the winter festival so much.
04:17You were right, Toad, Oliver called. There are some magical things about snow.
04:23Perhaps Mr. Oliver shivered Toad.
04:28Definitely.
