Einat Weiss of Nice on the role of a CMO.
Transcript
00:00I really believe that at the end of the day, marketing needs to be not just eye-catching,
00:05but also data-driven, and this is something that I feel is extremely, extremely important
00:10in order to be an effective CMO.
00:13I'm Inat Weiss, I'm the CMO of Nice, and I've been the CMO for a little over four years.
00:20Nice is a software company, a global software company, that provides a cloud platform to
00:26improve customer experience using AI.
00:29In the last four years, the role of the CMO changed a lot.
00:33If you think about pre-pandemic and post-pandemic, we had to go through a major transformation
00:41and move our entire operation from being face-to-face, in many cases event-driven, to pure digital
00:50marketing.
00:51This really forced us to think in a very differentiating way, to keep thinking about how we can rise
00:58above the noise, the digital noise out there, and this is just the way we operate now, and
01:04this is just the way we think about what we do.
01:07Even now, when face-to-face events are back, we still have to keep thinking, how is what
01:13we're saying different than everybody else?
01:16How are we really addressing the actual needs and wants of our potential customers?
01:22This is just something that we had to really emphasize in the last few years.
01:28In my opinion, in order to become a CMO, first of all, you need to really be passionate about
01:37the product that you market and have a very, very deep understanding of the domain.
01:44The second thing, of course, is a really good ability and will to communicate the messages
01:51or your company's messages in a very differentiating manner.
01:56Me personally, I really believe that at the end of the day, marketing needs to be not
02:01just eye-catching, but also data-driven, and this is something that I feel is extremely,
02:07extremely important in order to be an effective CMO, is really having the ability to understand
02:15data and make data-driven decisions.
