00:10What we have for you here to demonstrate is a Wuhan China 16 inch with rivets.
00:21You don't really see the smaller Wuhan's with rivets.
00:26When they are available, we grab them, usually the rivets are in the 18, 20, you know, the
00:32big guys.
00:33But you know what, we've always felt the 16 inch was like the transitional size, 16, 17
00:39inch.
00:40You start getting away from an accent symbol and you start getting into a bigger, more
00:45outspoken kind of China.
00:47I'm not going to bore you with all the details, if you've watched any of my thousands of videos,
00:51you know what these are made of, B20 bronze, handmade, blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:57Let's listen to the friggin' thing.
01:11You know, those rivets just add a little something extra.
01:16And for studio work, it's outstanding.
01:24Now I want you to notice the rivets are what we call a split end rivet.
01:29A split end rivet is easily removed.
01:32There's two types of rivets.
01:34One, you've got to squeeze with a pair of pliers to get out and you ruin it.
01:39These you don't.
01:40The ends are split, so what you can do is squeeze the rivet, pull it out and you've
01:45got yourself a regular 16 inch China.
01:48I much prefer this style of rivet on a symbol because it gives you that flexibility of turning
01:54it back into a regular China.
01:57And believe me, the six holes, those six little dots in there, ain't going to make a bit of
02:01difference on the sound.
02:30It's just a nice little addition to what otherwise would be a normal 16 inch China.
02:46And there you have it, the Wuhan 16 inch China with rivets.
