Home Office minister Lord Hanson has welcomed a prisoner swap with Russia which saw the return of American journalist Evan Gershkovich to the US and dual British-Russian citizen Vladimir Kara-Murza.

00:00We welcome the prisoner swap, we welcome the fact that innocent people have been returned,
00:05but it's rightly pointed out that those people were taken as pawns in a bigger game.
00:10We will encourage the discussions with the Americans to make sure that the British citizens and Americans are returned
00:16and are safe and we welcome that because they were innocent.
00:18But the wider issue is the one that we will continue to have to look at and reflect on
00:22and my colleagues in the Foreign Office will be examining the terms behind this deal in due course in a productive and sensible way.
