A man who hand-reared an orphaned alpaca which now refuses to move out his home might have to make more room - for her latest offspring.

Annie the alpaca was hand-reared by Dannie Burns, after she was rejected by her mother at just 10-minutes-old.

And she never moved out - and became convinced she was a dog, just like the three Labradoodle dogs she lived with.

Dannie takes her everywhere - in the big back seat of the Vauxhall Zafira he bought especially for her.

00:00My name is Danny Burns and I'm the owner here at the Alpaca Trekking Centre and this is
00:07Annie.
00:08Annie is the little alpaca that we actually hand reared and lived in the house with us
00:12for 7 months and now frequents whenever she likes.
00:15She's now 4 year old with her own baby and yeah, she's been kind of crazy for the last
00:204 years in my life and she's due to give birth again in September this year and that'll
00:27be fun.
00:28We've got room to build in the house, dad got one, Annie come, what's this, come, biscuits.
00:38So you think she's a dog, don't you?
00:40Well it's taken us 5 years to build the house, pretty much built it myself, right through
00:46lockdown and also no labourers, no materials, everything through the roof, prices, costs,
00:52everything else.
00:53So we managed it, we decided that yeah, just go for it, we're here now.
00:57And Annie decided to join us, so she, as I said, frequents just whenever she can get
01:04away from the fields and the barn and the other alpacas, she comes down here with us
01:07regularly.
01:08Run, Annie run, run, here she comes.
01:21Me and the missus, just us in this 300 square metre house and Annie when she appears and
01:27pops in or when she wants to because if we leave a door open and we're out on the farm
01:31she'll end up in here without us being here, so she just kind of wanders about and pleases
01:35herself.
01:36So yes, Annie comes in with Bailey, her baby from last year, so we'll see what happens
01:40when the new baby comes in September this year, whether it'll actually frequent the
01:44house the same as what they do.
01:46So we'll keep in touch and tell you exactly what's happening there.
01:51Possibly need to put an extension on if it keeps going this way, but yeah, no it's big
01:56enough for about the moment.
