DMW, ipinasara ang isang Japanese Language Training Center sa Baguio City dahil sa ilang paglabag
Transcript
00:00The Department of Migrant Workers shut down a language training center in Baguio City
00:06because of its illegal operation.
00:09The whole detail in the words of Dante Gitu.
00:14The employees of this Japanese language training center in Quezon Hill proper, Baguio City, were surprised
00:21after the Department of Migrant Workers shut down their operation this morning.
00:27First, DMW received information that the training center is being controlled by more than P50,000 training fee
00:37to the trainees and is giving referrals to legitimate recruitment agencies to work in Japan.
00:44DMW Undersecretary Bernard Olalya and Assistant Secretary Francis Ron De Guzman were the ones who issued the closure order.
00:53Many were already sent and we were informed that there is a tie-up with a legitimate recruitment agency in Manila
01:03and we will investigate that because of the complaint.
01:09DMW explained that the training center has a permit from the local government of Baguio City for language training
01:17but they do not have a permit and registration for other operations.
01:21Three of them emailed us.
01:23They are worth around P80,000 to P100,000.
01:27They trained but they did not leave or they have not left yet.
01:31So, I think the modus is for them to train us.
01:37If you enroll here, it is sure that you have a job in Japan.
01:41That is what we are prohibiting because they do not have a license.
01:45It is possible that the employees of the training center will face syndicated illegal recruitment cases.
01:51It is clear from the investigation.
01:53It is also clear from the operations that were done by our operatives in cooperation with the local government
02:00that there is an illegal modus that is being done here.
02:03Meanwhile, the owner of the training center refused to issue a permit
02:08but he insisted that they do not have an illegal operation.
02:13This is Dante Gittu for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
