00:00Barely 36 hours have passed since the Philippine and U.S. navies held a joint sail or maritime
00:05exercise in the country's exclusive economic zone in the West Philippine Sea. Earlier today,
00:11the follow-up sail or maritime exercise was held by a joint Philippine and Japanese naval expedition
00:17also in the country's EEZ, the very first of its kind between the two allies. In today's joint
00:24sail, the country's BRP Jose Rizal saw action while the Japanese ship joined in to perform
00:30communication exercises and tactical maneuvering. Both countries seek stronger regional and
00:35international collaboration towards an open and free navigation in the waters of the Indochina
00:41region. The joint sail also showcased the naval capabilities of both nations in the hope of
00:46mutually attaining peace, amity and respect founded on a rules-based international order.
