00:00280 acts, and they were first.
00:05Brooke is now wearing Vivi's top. I'm not happy.
00:08I don't want Brooke wearing the costume.
00:10My daughter is dancing in three minutes, and you're taking the costume off her back.
00:15Go back to your studio.
00:17You know what? I'm not. I'm here to stay, so like it.
00:21Coming up on Dance Mom.
00:23Two arms, Nia, three. Where are those arms?
00:26I want her in an afro.
00:28The same type of thing. Let's paint some cotton or something.
00:32That's the next one she's going to pull out.
00:33I just wanted to warn you, Dawncheck is here to talk to you.
00:37She should be here in a pair of heels.
00:39Never paid for the rest of your senior.
00:42You broke the contract. I don't owe you anything.
00:46I'm seeing court.
00:47I feel like the eyelashes are drooping. Do I need to staple your eyebrows up?
00:52I paid, what, almost $100,000 a year in private school tuition,
00:56and you're telling me I can't afford you?
00:58I did not say that.
01:00Right there, that's what you just won.
01:23This weekend, we were in Providence, Rhode Island, an hour outside of Boston.
01:28Some of the most prestigious dance studios in the country are there.
01:32Tough schools, tough competitors, and you really held your own.
01:36You won that victory cup.
01:39You killed it. I'm very proud.
01:44Excellent. I'm very proud of every one of you, and you know I don't say that too often.
01:49I'm also very proud that all the moms kept their mouths shut and didn't say anything to me.
01:55See how much nicer it is when everything goes so smoothly? It's wonderful.
02:00Now, if only the moms could learn to be team players like their daughters, then we'd be in business.
02:06I never saw such disorganization in all my life.
02:09Go back to your studio.
02:11You know what? I'm not. I'm here to stay, so like it.
02:16I don't. Neither does anybody else.
02:20Now, let's talk about this week's competition.
02:24We are going to, what?
02:28Star Trek!
02:31It's at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and it's a resort.
02:36It's all self-contained.
02:38We can't forget anything, so we will have a wardrobe for each day that they are going to be there.
02:44Just like the old school days, yes?
02:47And you will pack here in front of me so that I know that you have everything.
02:52Let's talk about the board.
02:54First of all, everybody worked together as a team.
02:59That teamwork is going to help you at nationals.
03:02That's what's going to put you over the top.
03:04Teamwork and technique.
03:06Those are the two things that we're going to concentrate on this week.
03:10Moms, we're doing another new number.
03:18One more costume.
03:20This week's group number is entitled Make You Mine.
03:24It's a theatrical jazz routine.
03:27It's upbeat. It's fun. Classy jazz.
03:30This week, I'm going to ask you to work harder than you've ever worked before.
03:34We need to show up and walk in there like we own the place.
03:38And I will give you a path list for clothes for the trip.
03:42And I want them dressed a certain way every single day that we are there.
03:46Does everyone understand that?
03:48Yes?
03:49Moms, thank you very much.
03:52Ladies, let's get up. Let's go.
04:04Vivian Mackenzie was still on the bottom of the board.
04:06Yeah, I didn't like that at all.
04:08Because they were in the team that won.
04:11Regardless of what they did, they contributed.
04:14I didn't even think about that.
04:15And I thought that that was really stinky.
04:18They should have put the babies on the top.
04:20I mean, it's like, God, don't ever give anybody just a little pinch.
04:25That's why Mackenzie doesn't want to dance anymore.
04:26She's like, it's always all about all the other girls and, you know.
04:30Rips are open.
04:32Darrier's out.
04:33Perfect.
04:34No squishy.
04:35And I just hope that you guys are prepared with the costume
04:40and that you guys stop sharing costumes.
04:43Because, yeah, there is so much teamwork,
04:46but it's ridiculous when you're looking at a 6-year-old
04:50and you're 13 to cram into her costume.
04:53No offense to you, because you were only doing what she told you to do.
04:59But I paid for the costume, and I didn't like it.
05:02So I think that for now, it's over and done with,
05:06and we need to move forward.
05:08Kathy is acting like a bitch,
05:10and she was way out of line whenever she came up to me three numbers
05:13before Brooke went on stage and took her costume off of her body.
05:17But my advice as a dance teacher,
05:19you moms need to step up and make sure that she's on top of things
05:23with your costumes.
05:26Baby's very young, and you're new,
05:30so you're kind of still in that honeymoon period.
05:33So she may not take it up, but give her some time,
05:36and then she'll start taking out her frustrations on you, on your daughter.
05:40Well, all I'm going to do is flash her a couple of dead precedents.
05:43Hopefully that'll work.
05:45That'll settle her.
05:47That'll settle her down right now.
05:50Some dead precedents. That'll help her.
05:56All right, now remember, you're an angel.
05:58So you need to be pretty and beautiful with beautiful feet.
06:02Not Fred Flintstone flat feet.
06:06Maddie is doing a breathtakingly gorgeous lyrical routine.
06:11It's entitled Angel, and she wears a stunning white costume.
06:24You are the sky, the moon, and I
06:30You are my light, the shining light
06:35These things I've learned will never end
06:41I'm doing this dance called Angel for my grandmother Babcia,
06:46and I hope that she is proud, and I know that she is watching me from heaven.
06:55You know that song, Angels, from my mom?
06:57I know. Maddie was telling me.
06:59She's so excited about it.
07:02My mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was really young,
07:06and my mom meant the world to me.
07:08Her and I were close, just like Maddie and I are.
07:14The other day, I was a little freaked out.
07:16It was like I smelled her, and it was like, it was so weird.
07:20You know, I look at her picture every day when I get my coffee,
07:23and, you know, I have her little handwriting on my cabinet, you know.
07:28And I, I don't know, I just miss her so much.
07:31I can't stand it.
07:32But you think, like, I would pick up the phone and call them, and you're like...
07:35I still do it.
07:36I sometimes say, oh, I have to tell my mom about this, you know,
07:39and then I'm like, is she not there?
07:43I can't imagine not having a parent.
07:45Oh, I mean, I have nobody.
07:49When I look at Maddie, I see my mom,
07:52because my mom had the blue eyes that Maddie has.
07:55And I always say to her, my mom gave me you.
08:00When she left me, she gave me you.
08:12Chug, chug, chug.
08:15Chug, chug, chug, chug.
08:18And you're moving forward a little bit, but more hips, big.
08:21Go.
08:22Neon is doing a character piece entitled La Cueva.
08:27It's sassy.
08:29It's snap, and hip, and head pop.
08:33Go.
08:36See how you're, like, going to fall when you finish?
08:39I don't want to see that.
08:40Do it again.
08:41Push.
08:43Staggering again.
08:45Come on.
08:46Nia is African-American,
08:48and I'm trying to teach her different ethnic dances,
08:53and I'm trying to train her so that when she is in New York or L.A.
08:57and the casting call says ethnic,
09:00she can do all of the dances correctly.
09:03Your abdominal muscles, engage them.
09:07You're marching your own circle.
09:09Nose up in the air.
09:11Go.
09:12One, two, three, four.
09:15You're going to swing this down five
09:18and fan kick big four-starch flex seven and eight.
09:23Good.
09:25Before I start another solo,
09:28and before I start yelling about your feet and your legs being sloppy,
09:33this is the difference between winning an overall.
09:36This is the difference between winning a title.
09:39Right here, the technique.
09:42Explain that word to me.
09:46We use it all the time.
09:49What does technique mean?
09:51I think it means that you, um,
09:57you really don't know.
09:59You really don't know.
10:00And how many times have you heard it in dance?
10:03A thousand times.
10:04A thousand times.
10:06You were reading a book, and they used the word a thousand times,
10:10and you didn't understand it.
10:11Wouldn't you go look up the word?
10:12Yeah.
10:13Abby pushes me really hard,
10:16but I don't mind because it makes me a better dancer.
10:20Go head on to the floor.
10:23Let me see your best jump.
10:26I know you're teaching until 730,
10:28but I just wanted to warn you,
10:30Dawn Check is here to talk to you.
10:33She should be here in a parallel.
10:36She wanted to speak to you, so.
10:38Okay, I'll be out in a few minutes.
10:40Okay.
10:42Minister Dawn, she has a lot of nerve showing up at my dance studio
10:47after what she pulled the last time she was here.
10:50I mean, I can't believe that she has the gall to show her face
10:53after the police hauled her out of here.
10:56Every week we put the trash out.
10:58Go.
11:00Take your cell phone.
11:02You're the biggest piece of trash there is.
11:05Yeah, I took your phone.
11:07Call the police.
11:08Go for it.
11:11I'm sorry.
11:12There's a psycho in every batch.
11:14A psycho.
11:16Yes, her name's Abigail Miller.
11:18I mean it, please.
11:25All right, we got to go.
11:26Take your daughter somewhere else.
11:29I'd like to dance with you.
11:34This time I'm prepared.
11:35I have 911 on speed dial.
11:42Coming up on Dance Swamps.
11:44I don't know what I'm going to do about Nia.
11:46If she doesn't step it up,
11:48she's going to blow it for the rest of the girls in the group.
11:51Why is my daughter the only one dressed in animal print?
11:55Is this a joke?
11:57But the contract was broken.
12:00No.
12:01I don't owe you anything.
12:03That's called fact by deception.
12:09Seven and eight.
12:12I know you're teaching until 730,
12:14but I just wanted to warn you,
12:16Dawncheck is here to talk to you.
12:19She should be here in Parabell.
12:22Go somewhere else.
12:23Take your money.
12:24Take your kid.
12:25Take your socks.
12:26Find another school.
12:27I heard you cry.
12:29It's my building.
12:31My name's on the front page.
12:32No, what?
12:33Put your face on it.
12:34Orange.
12:35Hi, I need a police.
12:37I have an unapparent.
12:40It's out of control.
12:41Have a seat.
12:42I just thought it would be better if we spoke in person.
12:46I am busy, busy, busy, busy.
12:48Okay.
12:49You never paid for the rest of your solo.
12:52Yeah, I'm not going to do that.
12:56Okay, well, it needs to be paid.
12:58This is your contract.
13:00I understand, but the contract was broken.
13:04No.
13:06When you throw me out and tell me to get out and not come back,
13:10that makes it broken.
13:11No, it doesn't.
13:12You broke the contract.
13:14I don't owe you anything.
13:16I'll see you in court.
13:17Believe me, Dawn, I've done it before.
13:19And you're going to have the court costs.
13:22You're going to have my time in there.
13:24Unless I win, and then what happens?
13:28How would you win?
13:29Your daughter wore a costume, took a picture in it,
13:32and you're claiming that you don't need to pay for it?
13:35That's called fact by deception.
13:39You can use all the words you want to use.
13:42I will.
13:43But it's a breach of contract.
13:44Okay, it's time for you to go.
13:46Well, right.
13:47Have a nice day.
13:50That minister, Dawn, needs a Bible refresher course.
13:54Thou shall not lie, thou shall not steal,
13:57and thou shall not disrespect Abby.
14:03Okay, ladies.
14:05This is your pack list for the competition.
14:07Now, I didn't get into too much detail since you guys go away all the time.
14:12When we go to a competition, everyone involved is representing me, Abby Lee Miller.
14:18So I want my girls to look professional,
14:22and I want the moms to look professional, too.
14:25Kathy, the reason we do this is so it's easy for me to find the kids.
14:31When I'm traveling with children and I need to get them quickly,
14:34I want to take a photo, somebody shows up,
14:36and then they all look good for my program book.
14:39I'm all about themes, but these little themed outfits are just for the children.
14:45No, no, no, no, no. They're for everyone attending.
14:51Hold the phone for just a moment because we've already went shopping
14:56and we've bought some fabulous clothes,
14:59and I'm seeing here black and white nighttime,
15:02and I'm going to assume that you're talking about banquets.
15:05And I have a fabulous fuchsia formal that I'm going to be wearing,
15:10and she has green.
15:13I'm sorry I can't follow Abby's rules.
15:16When Candy Apples steps out, we do it in style.
15:20We don't dress like the help.
15:22You do remember that I am not the team player,
15:26and we will be packing at home.
15:31And what we pack is what we're bringing.
15:34This may not be totally conducive.
15:36Do not let your child an outcast.
15:38Oh, we would love for Vivi to blend.
15:41The reason why we're here is to stand out.
15:44I like to say that I'm smarter than the average bear,
15:47and I like to pull the rug out from underneath them
15:50and take their focus away from what's going on so that I get my way.
15:54All right. Everybody understands?
15:56Yes? Mothers, I have your word? Kathy?
15:59Oh, well, I'll have to think about it.
16:12Vivi, you know what I found out?
16:15At Star Power, they have a costume award,
16:20and you have to put your photo in.
16:23So I think that we're going to enter your pink costume.
16:28At Star Power, they have a photogenic award.
16:31I would love for Vivi to be able to have the opportunity
16:35to model in a costume book because that's what I did,
16:38when I was little, and it was a great experience,
16:41very exciting, and I think it would be wonderful
16:44to know that her picture was going all over the country.
16:48You know what else, too, Vivi?
16:50There will probably be a lot of photographers there.
16:53Okay.
16:54It'll be like you're the glamour girl, okay?
16:57That'd be fun.
16:59Maybe mommy can get in a couple shots.
17:01Yeah.
17:02My mom wants me to be famous.
17:05My mom wants me to be famous.
17:08I don't want to be a model.
17:20All right, girls.
17:22The new number that we're going to do for this competition
17:25is called Make You Mine.
17:27Everybody say that.
17:29Make you mine.
17:31I want you to go out,
17:32and I want you to get the older girls' black chairs.
17:35This week's group number is entitled Make You Mine,
17:39and we used the chairs because the kids had done a Fosse number,
17:43and they were familiar with working on the chairs.
17:46It's high energy, and the kids love the number.
17:49They get to dance like teenagers, so they love it.
17:56One, two, three, four.
18:01Cut tape.
18:02Roll.
18:08Turn that foot out.
18:09Put your arms up straight.
18:15One, two, three.
18:18Where are those arms?
18:20Last night at dinner with your dad.
18:23Now put your arms up.
18:25I'm your fantasy girl.
18:29It's so frustrating to watch Nia dance.
18:32She makes the same mistakes over and over again.
18:38Pop up.
18:39I want it strong.
18:40This is the third time in 20 minutes I'm telling you the same thing.
18:45I don't know what I'm going to do about Nia.
18:48If she doesn't step it up,
18:49she's going to blow it for the rest of the girls in the group.
18:52You're the last one.
18:54And it was 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 50%.
19:01One more time.
19:02Do it.
19:03One, two, three, four, five.
19:07It's still not sharp enough.
19:08It has to come up.
19:10Watch it when the next group does it.
19:12Ready?
19:13Let's go.
19:23I try to do everything right, but sometimes it's too hard.
19:27Five, six, seven, eight, and a one, two, three.
19:40I have a costume.
19:46All right.
19:47Nia, you're going to put this on first, sweetie.
19:51The costume is darling.
19:53It's really like a satire on the drag queen image,
19:58and it's over the top, and it's fun, fun, fun,
20:01and it's right up Nia's alley.
20:03Then put the pants and the crop top and everything else on after that.
20:09I loved my costume for Look Viva.
20:12I thought it was amazing.
20:14Chloe, this is you again.
20:16It's not what I drew.
20:18I shouldn't have sent the fabric.
20:20I love you.
20:21I'm sorry.
20:22Hi.
20:23Hi.
20:24I arrived just in time for costumes,
20:26and it's always interesting to see what Abby will pull out of her bag of tricks.
20:30Girls.
20:31Brooke.
20:32Oh, we're not too bad.
20:34Hey, boss, you're a lot bigger than we think.
20:36Okay, I know it's awkward.
20:38You know what?
20:39I'm in.
20:42Was it hard to get in?
20:44Is my daughter the only one dressed in animal print?
20:48Is this a joke?
20:50Can you walk down there, sweetie, and let me see you?
20:54All the other girls get feminine, beautiful, whimsical costumes
20:58that aren't typecasting.
21:01And you know what?
21:02I want her in an afro.
21:04Do you have one from when we did My Hair Looks Fierce?
21:08I was like, let me just pull out my purse.
21:10Now I don't have an afro.
21:12You don't have an afro anymore.
21:14If not, can you shove these in her?
21:17Do you have an afro in your purse?
21:19I just changed purses.
21:21Are you kidding me?
21:23No, I don't have an afro.
21:25That's not the black experience that we know.
21:28And there's nothing wrong with Laquifa, the Laquifas of the world,
21:33but that's not Nia's experience.
21:36It is not my experience.
21:37My name is Holly.
21:39I'm as far away from Laquifa as you can get.
21:43That is not who I am, and that is not who Nia is.
21:49Turn around.
21:51Holly wants her daughter to be like every other little girl.
21:54Nia has an advantage over everybody else.
21:58She can play many different ethnicities,
22:01and it's my job to make her capitalize those opportunities.
22:06Different is good.
22:08She has what it takes,
22:10and yet her mom wants her to be like Paige and Maddie and Chloe.
22:15This is show business.
22:17When they're looking for somebody different,
22:19they're going to love Nia.
22:22I think these could get a little higher.
22:26Coming up on Dance Mom.
22:28I don't know if I'm going to be able to hang in there much longer.
22:31We're going to have to pick a project.
22:33RMS is far from ahead.
22:35And we're not used to being late.
22:36It really makes me mad.
22:37You're the first thing they're going to see from Abby Lee Miller.
22:40Do you understand how important it is?
22:51I can't take all the late nights.
22:57I never drink, but after having to buy an Afro
23:01and seeing that leopard costume, I've about had it.
23:05What I took objection to was just about the whole FIFA number.
23:09I never have denied my black heritage.
23:12I'm very proud of it,
23:13but I don't want to be un-stereotypical in the 70s wearing an Afro.
23:17We're in the 21st century.
23:19I think Holly's being a little overdramatic.
23:22Her daughter's wearing an Afro wig.
23:25What's the big deal?
23:26She's going to have to pick a project, might as well.
23:29RMS is far from ahead and being Aunt Jemima.
23:32I don't want that.
23:33Did you just say picking cotton?
23:35Well, that's what I'm saying.
23:36It's the same type of thing.
23:37Swing a little swing chariot and just pick some cotton or something.
23:41We have worked so hard to go beyond that.
23:44For me, it's very political.
23:47Politics is all about who has the power and who has the control.
23:50I don't have the power to choose Nia's music.
23:52Abby gets to choose that.
23:54And Abby has the control and the power in depicting how she wants Nia portrayed.
23:59I'm really frustrated.
24:01I'm at the end of my rope.
24:02I don't know if I'm going to be able to hang in there much longer.
24:18Bus driver, how come you came this way?
24:21You're throwing everybody around back here.
24:23We're heading to the Star Power competition in Connecticut.
24:28And this is going to be tough.
24:30The judges are going to be looking for technique, of course, showmanship, costuming, and passion.
24:39So when the dancers step out there, they're truly passionate about their craft and what they're doing.
24:46Mackenzie.
24:48Here.
24:49Maddie.
24:50Here.
24:52Kathy's too good for us.
24:54She gets to ride in the Mercedes while we're on the bus.
24:58Who does she think she is?
25:00We all know it's a C-class.
25:07Everybody at the wig shop thought I was crazy.
25:10Check an afro for a 10-year-old girl.
25:13Oh, you ended up getting one?
25:15I found one.
25:16Is it blonde?
25:19That would have been good.
25:21There are lots of wigs I would like to choose from for Nia.
25:24I would never select an afro wig.
25:27I would like for Nia to be beautiful and not stereotyped as someone with an afro from the 70s.
25:36I'm going to eat it like gummy worms.
26:00Getting sleep on a bus with a bunch of kids just doesn't work.
26:14So here we are at Star Power, and this is a big competition for us.
26:18Our girls need to do really well.
26:21Moms, they're running 30 minutes ahead, so get the makeup on as quickly as possible so that we have time to run this number.
26:34That's more important.
26:35Maddie, how does that feel?
26:38Does that feel good?
26:39Not really.
26:40Do you have to go to the bathroom?
26:41Maddie has to go to the bathroom.
26:42No, I don't.
26:43Maddie, listen to me.
26:44You have to cooperate with me.
26:47We had 30 minutes to get our kids ready.
26:51They had to be stretched.
26:52We had to put French twists in their hair, fake eyelashes, all their makeup.
26:57It was crazy.
27:00Maddie, you have one number to dance, and that's it.
27:04You're going to deal with it.
27:05Be a grown-up.
27:08I'm sick of this attitude.
27:10I can't deal with Maddie's attitude.
27:13She's 8 years old, and sometimes she thinks she's 16.
27:17Maddie, you need earrings?
27:20No.
27:21Maddie, calm down, please.
27:24I'm a perfectionist.
27:25I don't like to be rushed when I'm doing my makeup and hair.
27:29Guess what?
27:31Do you want to go home?
27:32You're never like this.
27:34Stop it.
27:35Melissa's always freaking out on Maddie before the competitions.
27:39I feel bad for Maddie.
27:41Maddie, go do some turns and see if that hair moves, please.
27:47What was that about?
27:48What was that?
27:50Melissa is always on time, always prepared, always where she needs to be.
27:54And when that doesn't happen exactly as she planned, then she gets worked up,
28:00and that, in turn, works up her daughters.
28:03Girls, stop.
28:05There are 1,500 numbers, okay?
28:11You're the first thing they're going to see from Abby Lee Miller.
28:14Do you understand how important it is?
28:16Be respectful backstage when you come off the stage.
28:19I don't care if it was good, bad, or otherwise.
28:22You act like it was the best time you ever danced.
28:24Do you understand me?
28:26This is what we have been working for all season.
28:28Today is what matters.
28:30Right now in 10 minutes.
28:31Do you understand?
28:35♪♪♪
28:49Every single competition is really important to us
28:51because each competition is one step closer to nationals.
28:57Please help me welcome Kate Yumae for 128.
29:03♪♪♪
29:12♪♪♪
29:39Why is she so four-stage loud?
29:41♪♪♪
29:45Nia missed a big glissade.
29:47I corrected her over and over, and she still did it wrong.
29:52No, Jesus.
29:54♪♪♪
30:17During the Make You Mine performance, Nia was a little off.
30:21I just hope Abby's not too hard on her.
30:24♪♪♪
30:43Coming up on Dance Swamps...
30:45This is a special angel.
30:47Let's pin it on you, okay?
30:48Don't look scared.
30:50Don't look like somebody's goosing you.
30:52Oh, my God, Nia, I love you.
30:54The Quifa!
30:56What?
30:57♪♪♪
31:05Maddie's really upset right now.
31:07The group just performed,
31:09and she doesn't feel that they performed to the best of their ability.
31:15Girls, I'm talking to you right now because I'm disappointed.
31:21Now, why were you crying?
31:25You got hurt a little?
31:26What happened?
31:31Okay.
31:32Maddie was upset because Nia did not do well.
31:36But she told Abby she was upset because she twisted her ankle.
31:41Nobody knows the dance.
31:43She should go to the bathroom.
31:45♪♪♪
31:50Does that say registration?
31:51Yeah.
31:53I am inquiring about the photogenic award.
31:57I entered Vivi in a photogenic contest.
32:00We haven't had the opportunity to do the costume catalog thing yet.
32:05Now I got a mess going on here.
32:07I thought that this would be a good start to maybe start to pursue something like that.
32:12Incline your head.
32:13Okay.
32:14You're gonna...
32:15I won't touch you then.
32:17I feel like the eyelashes are drooping.
32:20Do I need to staple your eyebrows up?
32:24Don't look scared.
32:25Don't look like somebody's goosing you.
32:28I'm feeling like you're a bum model.
32:31Come on.
32:33Look alive.
32:34Look at me and smile.
32:36Big smile.
32:37Big, big, big.
32:38Get it.
32:39Click.
32:40Smile.
32:43Ugh.
32:44You're just gonna look over your shoulder.
32:46She should have her hands down.
32:48Look at me and smile.
32:49Okay.
32:50Okay, that's key.
32:51Don't change your face.
32:52Freeze your face.
32:55You look like a pug.
32:59Oh, shh.
33:00Now she's running the show.
33:03I went in with the attitude that I was gonna do all of the posing for Vivi,
33:07and Vivi just took off.
33:09She just went off on her own.
33:10Big smile.
33:13Thank you.
33:15I was amazed because she really started to perform,
33:19and she was doing cute little poses,
33:21and she was coming up with ideas all on her own.
33:24Just do whatever you feel like.
33:26I've just been fired.
33:29Okay.
33:39It's very important that the girls win for their group numbers.
33:43They win all the time for their solos.
33:45That's easy.
33:46It's much more difficult to do a group routine.
33:49Everybody has to be in sync.
33:51Timing issues, spatial awareness,
33:54everybody on the same count at the same time.
33:57When your group wins, you've won.
34:03Only four-tenths of a point separate first from third.
34:11Third place is...
34:14Gratitude, number 124.
34:18Your second place world champion today is...
34:24Make You Mine, number 128.
34:33Name your studio and who's the choreographer?
34:36Abby Lee Dance Company.
34:38Our girls definitely deserved first place.
34:41We were totally shocked.
34:43Missy, I just want to tell you that Batra would have been so proud of you.
34:50You know, her and I were close like you and I,
34:52except we didn't fight like you and I fight.
34:56Because you're too much of a perfectionist.
34:59But she meant so much to me.
35:01She was my best friend like you and I are.
35:04I'm so proud of you.
35:06I'm so proud of you.
35:08I'm so proud of you.
35:10She meant so much to me.
35:12She was my best friend like you and I are.
35:14That's why you remind me so much of her.
35:17She loved angels, you know.
35:19When she died, I took her hat.
35:22You know, the angels will be always put on,
35:24but this is the most special angel.
35:27This was her favorite little angel.
35:29So let's pin it on you, okay?
35:32My mom wore this pin on her hat every day when she had cancer.
35:37I love to see my kids dance the way they dance.
35:40And giving this pin to my daughter means the world to me.
35:44You know, whenever you go on stage,
35:46I always pray for her to be on stage with you.
35:50I totally believe that my mom is always with my daughter when she's on stage.
35:56Always.
35:57Do really good today, okay?
35:59And think of her when you're on stage.
36:01She'll be there with you.
36:03I love you so much.
36:05I'm doing this dance, Angel, for my grandmother, Babja.
36:09And I hope she's proud and I know that she's watching me from heaven.
36:35I love you.
37:06I never get tired of watching Maddie dance.
37:19She always brings tears to my eyes.
37:35My angel.
37:41My angel.
38:01Maddie did her solo so wonderful today.
38:03I'm so proud of her.
38:04And Babja would be proud of her, too.
38:20All right.
38:21My thing's on.
38:27Look at my sewing.
38:29Look.
38:30It's like all...
38:33It's because I'm rushed.
38:35Look, this actually says for the style, 70s party afro.
38:40Should have seen the woman at the start.
38:41Is that for you?
38:43It's offensive that Abby asked me to go out and buy an afro wig.
38:48Why is she asking me?
38:49I think it's very stereotypical.
38:52Why is she always depicting this Afro-American looking thing that...
38:58I know.
38:59Yeah.
39:00And why the wig?
39:02Nia's solos have appeared to be going in a particular direction.
39:08The solo that she's now doing, she's got an Afro wig on.
39:12And she's portraying Latifa, Laquifa, somebody.
39:17And I just, I feel bad.
39:19There's so many cute things that she could do, you know?
39:23I know.
39:24It's almost starting to be not politically correct.
39:28Holly is a little hysterical over this, I think.
39:31I think that this is starting to really play and wear on Holly.
39:36Don't you let that affect you, because you know what?
39:39You are going to go out and just smash it.
39:42Right. See?
39:43See? You're going to kill it.
39:45You could be one of my dancers.
39:47I think Nia does get typed with her numbers, but everybody does.
39:52Brooke has done an acrobatic routine since she was six years old.
39:56She's never been given anything else.
39:59And there's many other things Brooke could do.
40:01Like, Brooke could do a lyrical number, but Abby just doesn't give it to her,
40:05because she's typed as an Afro.
40:09I felt that was put in an awful situation.
40:12I don't want to pull her from a dance.
40:14She's worked hard. She deserves to be in that dance.
40:17At the same time, I don't feel comfortable with her being on stage dressed that way.
40:27You're coming up on Dance Bombs.
40:29Where's all the cute poses that you were doing?
40:32It's 2011, and she's wearing a seppy Afro wig.
40:36And you're telling me I can't afford you?
40:38I did not say that.
40:40I did.
40:41No, I did not.
40:42And you have my kid dressed up in an Afro?
40:49All of the girls are either doing a solo or a duet here at Star Power this week.
40:54So they need to make sure the technique is in check,
40:58the legs are straight, the feet are pointed,
41:00and they bring their own personality to the routine.
41:04If you would please put your hands together
41:06and say the words of the Lord.
41:25The shattering, it's a curse.
41:30Baby, I'ma put you on my hot list.
41:33I gotta get, gotta, gotta, gotta get this.
41:38Oh, I love you the same as before.
41:55Let's go on to number three.
41:57Vivian.
41:59I entered Vivi in the Miss Photogenic Contest,
42:02and we took some fabulous pictures.
42:04I just hope that those judges know what they're doing,
42:07and that they pick the right girl,
42:09and it's Vivi, of course.
42:11It's too much like she's on stage instead of just taking a photo of her beauty.
42:16It's cute. No, it's cute.
42:17It is cute.
42:18She's about to go on a musical.
42:19I absolutely think she's got on something like stage makeup.
42:22Yes, she does.
42:23It's totally about to go on.
42:25And I think that's like reinforced eyebrows and eyelashes, as a matter of fact.
42:30And it's kind of blurry.
42:32Yeah, it's actually not the most, the best quality picture either.
42:36She's got a costume on, unless of course she wears sequins on a daily basis.
42:41And it's not centered.
42:42Which I do, but that's okay.
42:43I know you do.
42:44Yes.
42:45It's not centered.
42:46Not good lighting.
42:47Not a photo.
42:48Okay, this is a no?
42:49Not today.
42:50Okay, great. Moving on.
42:53Thank you.
43:06For the title of the Teen Best, here is Mohit Gipsta.
43:18Thank you.
43:23Congratulations to you, Maddie.
43:27Maddie has six crowns now, and her goal is to make it to the double digits.
43:36Congratulations.
43:39God bless this boy.
43:43You like that?
43:47We're going to sit and look at these, okay?
43:49Oh, man.
43:51Where's all the cute poses that you were doing?
43:55The photogenic award was nestled in between all of the other awards.
44:01I have no idea how many kids were in the contest.
44:05They did give three places out, and Vivi was not awarded any of those three places.
44:11I'm going to tell you what, that photographer, no wonder he's working at competitions, because he's no professional.
44:20You don't even look like you're smiling. I should have had red lipstick on you.
44:24The photographer was a goof.
44:26Despite how bad he was, the judges should have seen the potential in Vivi.
44:32These are horrendous.
44:34I mean, no, you're beautiful.
44:38But these pictures, I don't understand what the guy was doing.
44:51Nia is doing a character piece entitled La Cueva.
44:56I need Nia to know the ethnic dances.
45:01Those dances come from a heritage, and they have to be done correctly.
45:13They call me La Cueva.
45:15Gotcha. Thank you.
45:21I'm really apprehensive about this dance.
45:23I don't like the song, I don't like the costume, I don't like the theme.
45:27Come on, it's called La Cueva.
45:30I don't like the song.
45:32Come on, it's called La Cueva.
