00:00I'm going back to some of the comments Mario Christobal made this week about some specific
00:05players. Some of the newcomers, he was asked a question about Sam Brown, who's doing well so far,
00:12the transfer wide receiver. I'm impressed watching him in person, Bruce. He looks really fast out
00:18there. Christobal also mentioned Nykar and Jojo Trader practicing really well. And he said that
00:25Ray Ray Joseph yesterday had maybe his best practice in a Miami Hurricanes uniform. We need
00:31all these guys to step up. Yes, we do. Yeah, and when I talk to Kevin Beard about Jojo, he loves
00:37him. But he's not ready to step in and play all the time. He misses some things. He doesn't find
00:44the right spots. Maybe he'll miss a blocking assignment. But overall, athletically and
00:48catching a football, they love this kid. He's really good. Yeah, I saw him make a catch yesterday
00:54from Judd Anderson, threw it to him right on the sideline, and he caught the ball in coverage,
01:00tapped the feet to stay in bounds. A really good catch by Jojo. Yeah, he's like a mini professional
01:05already. He's got a lot of those skills. It's a damn shame about Smith going to Ohio State, but
01:13I wonder how many people were thinking we're going to win the ACC then. But you know what?
01:17He's not in our conference, so we can't deal with it. Yeah, no, no doubt. A couple of other
01:23players Cristobal mentioned. He was asked a question, so he was teed up for this one.
01:28But he was asked about Justin Scott, and Cristobal didn't hold back. He referred to Scott,
01:33the freshman defensive tackle, as a real one. He says, very heavy-handed, light feet,
01:40knowledgeable, smart, plays with good leverage. That guy is going to be special, Cristobal said,
01:45and he said you can throw a lot at him, like mentally. And Mario mentioned in the first
01:49practice, they threw a lot at him, like mentally and playbook-wise, and he handled all of it very
01:54well. And I had a chance, Bruce, for those who saw my media day interviews on Tuesday,
01:58I did get a few minutes with Justin Scott, and he talks like a professional. The football IQ just
02:06oozes out of that man's ears. Excuse me, and I predicted he's going to play. He'll play.
02:13I think he's in it too deep easily. He has to play. He needs to gain the experience.
02:18But of course, they could play him four games and redshirt him, but I don't know. It depends
02:21where they are. I think he's going to play. I don't think he's going to get a redshirt at all.
02:26What did he say about, anything about Alderman at all?
02:31You know, Kiko, Kiko mentioned Alderman, and he only, I don't remember specifically,
02:37but I actually asked Kiko about Alderman a couple times, because I asked him about Alderman
02:40last week as well, and said like, you know, really good addition, and he talked about how
02:46Alderman comes off a great, like Louisville statistically, I think defensively had an even
02:50better season than Miami did, and Alderman was part of that starting unit. So to me,
02:55I look at Alderman, I don't know if he's going to start or not here, because Kiko and Wesley
02:59Besaint both look like studs out there, but Alderman's going to be one of those next men up,
03:04Bruce, because Miami consistently used four to five linebackers last year, so a bunch of guys
03:09are going to get to play.
