00:00Well, the hours are long, but at least the coffee is free.
00:03Here's a look at the brand new NECA toys.
00:05Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Business Suit Casey Jones, and Foot Soldier Split.
00:30You asked, we listened.
00:40Casey Jones in his Octopus Inc. business suit disguise is here.
00:43This all-new Casey Jones sculpt is compatible with our original Casey Jones figure.
00:47He comes in an epic Action 2 pack with the long-awaited Split and Half Foot Soldier.
00:52These action figures stand 7-inch scale and are ready to join the collection today.
00:56Comes in collector-friendly window box packaging.
00:59Leave it to Casey Jones for it in praise for his ruthless, violent attitude and take-charge
01:03aggressiveness.
01:04Just before we get a closer look at the brand new NECA toys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
01:06Business Suit Casey Jones, and Foot Soldier Split, I'd like, if I can, to thank the folks
01:11over at NECA that were kind enough to provide the sample we could have a look at.
01:14The tape measure is going to tell us that the figure stands, at least for Casey, at
01:17around 6 inches in height.
01:19Yes, yes it does.
01:21Where the figure's going to stand about 15 centimeters tall.
01:24The Foot Soldier, though being split in half, isn't that much taller, though, than Casey.
01:28He's still going to stand at about 6 inches in height or, again, about 15 centimeters
01:32tall.
01:33By the way, if you're a new viewer, welcome.
01:36If you're a long-time viewer, welcome back.
01:37The molds, though, for Casey Jones are brand new and belong to him.
01:41If to compare it, though, with the original Casey Jones, you can actually see there's
01:43a size difference, really, between the two.
01:46The thing, though, I really like, though, about this Casey Jones is, no, not the fact
01:49that he does sport a now business suit, but the fact that the figure does have a compatible
01:53head sculpt that can be swapped out with this one here.
01:56You'll like the look of the original Casey Jones, maybe not loving, necessarily, the
01:58head sculpt.
02:00You can actually swap them around.
02:02I'll do that shortly in a second.
02:03As for, though, the Foot Soldier, some cosmetic changes have been made to him, even though
02:07it seems like his lower body and perhaps even his arms are identical to the original Foot
02:11Soldier.
02:12The colors, though, of purple are much brighter.
02:14We did get a couple of variations of Foot Soldier.
02:16Just the OG one happens to be compared to...
02:18You can already see.
02:19You can already see.
02:20The more darker purple here was on the original one.
02:22A much more bright, vibrant purple is on now the new one.
02:25There was also another variation of that Foot Soldier that got kind of split at his midsection.
02:29That's a pretty cool looking Foot Soldier as well.
02:31You know, though, I would love if they could release a Foot Soldier, like an accessory
02:34pack that just would have like just end trails, like broken up parts, limbs missing, arms
02:39missing, all those just kind of leftover destroyed pieces of the bots that you could just then
02:43sprinkle around your diorama.
02:45Who else would be for that?
02:47Of course, as well, if we're going to be comparing the guy who works along with the actual Turtles,
02:51let's bring in a couple of the Turtles.
02:52Here's what Casey Jones looks like.
02:54This is both Raphael and Donatello of the original dark olive green color scheme.
02:57The color I really prefer more so when it comes to displaying these.
03:00Now, if you get a lay of the land, there's a fair bit of accessories to cover.
03:03This Casey Jones, though, is depicted from season three, episode 25, entitled Corporate
03:08Raiders from Dimension X, in which he actually infiltrates Octopus Inc. dressed in his suit
03:13and tie, as you can see right now.
03:15The figure, though, can be swapped out.
03:16He does also come with an alternate head sculpt and he also comes with sleeves.
03:20We will in fact eventually take off his jacket, but we're not going to get ahead too ahead.
03:24First, let's have a look at the accessories that come included with dear Casey Jones.
03:28He does come.
03:29He's working in the office, after all.
03:31He comes with like a little letter tray with envelopes inside.
03:34None of the envelopes, by the way, are removable, but a nice little included accessory.
03:38Though it would have been nice if the figure could have come included with a desk, but
03:40considering really all the things he already comes included with, I think it would be high
03:43expectations for myself or anybody for that matter to expect a desk to come included with
03:48the Casey.
03:49I'm sure I could probably find something smaller of this size.
03:51Like I said, the envelopes themselves don't have any markings or anything on them.
03:54They're all the things he has to work through, though, and he hasn't really done a great
03:57enough job, I feel, of really even organizing these.
03:59I wouldn't even know really where to start.
04:00Would this be the beginning of what he needs to work through and then this would be the
04:03end of the day?
04:04Hopefully, he gets to the end of the day before he gets to the end of the envelopes and his
04:07boss, I'm sure, will find something else for him to do.
04:10The actual, like I said, little box, little basket here is a nice little welcomed accessory.
04:14Also a nice welcomed accessory is this.
04:16Now I thought looking at this, I'm sure it's a coffee or creamer.
04:20Initially looking at this, I thought it was a syrup dispenser you would get at like Waffle
04:24House.
04:25We don't have Waffle Houses here in Canada.
04:28We do have now just recently IHOP.
04:29IHOPs have now started to open up here in Canada, but it actually looks like an old
04:32syrup or even like just a current syrup dispenser.
04:36It would just, I don't think that would be the noise necessarily that syrup dispenser
04:39would make, but it would just pour syrup all over your flapjacks, hotcakes, whatever else
04:43you call your pancakes.
04:44So he comes with those, I'll move those off to the side, and then he comes, of course,
04:49with the things you'd expect the things to come included when it comes to Casey Jones.
04:52Like for example, he does come with his golf bag.
04:55The thing that's so funny about this episode is the fact that even when he infiltrates
04:58the job, the force, he actually still manages to walk around with his mask on and his golf
05:03bag full of weapons.
05:05Nobody is, again, nobody seems to suspect that something seems off about Casey.
05:09The actual golf bag, though, is a fairly soft plastic.
05:12I was actually expecting it to be a little bit denser than what it actually is, but it
05:15though manages to hold everything that we're about to look at right now.
05:18The figure comes with two variations of hockey stick.
05:22One would say that this is just a regular player's hockey stick cast here in white
05:25plastic outlined nicely here in black.
05:27And then he also comes included with a goalie stick.
05:29It's a little bit bigger, as you can see, and it's about the same length or so.
05:33And unlike the white, it's now cast here in gray.
05:35Again, you get some nice panel lining there, wrapped up sections down below where the handles
05:39would be.
05:40Casey's accessory, by the way, can be held by Casey.
05:42I've already taken the liberty of swapping out his hands.
05:44There's a tricky thing going on here with the hands, and we'll kind of digest and discuss
05:48that a little bit in a second.
05:50But again, we'll just go ahead and take the tools of the trade right now.
05:52We'll slide those into the bag.
05:53We'll put those over there.
05:55I don't think it's going to be able to prop up because the bottom of the bag is a little
05:58bit more rounded.
05:59So maybe we'll just lay it down.
06:00The figure also comes included with this.
06:01I wasn't really quite sure what exactly this is.
06:04It looks kind of just more like a beam, a baton of some sort.
06:07It's not a baseball bat, at least from what I can see.
06:09He has a regular baseball bat, and then he has this.
06:13Not really sure.
06:14It's cast, though, in gray, and, of course, you can see just as much detail gets done
06:17to this, even though I'm not as familiar with actually what this is.
06:20And then, of course, he comes with a trusty baseball bat.
06:23Now, Jose Canseco, tell me you didn't spend money on this.
06:26No.
06:27Wrong medium for Ninja Turtles.
06:28And then, of course, the last thing he also comes included, good for bashing in foot soldiers,
06:32he also comes with a sledgehammer.
06:34All of these, by the way, again, can be stored inside the bag.
06:36There's still room to spare, even if I put all the stuff in there.
06:41There's probably still enough room to fit, what, one, two, three.
06:44Come on, don't get greedy.
06:46I think you can probably fit, if anything, maybe two more weapons inside.
06:48And, of course, that can then fit over top of his body.
06:51The figure also comes included with a pair of interchangeable hands.
06:54The thing that's interesting about the hands, though, is that the foot soldiers, when you
06:57look at theirs, let's grab one that's like for like.
07:00So this is Casey Jones.
07:02This is the foot soldier.
07:03You may be able to see right away that there's a color difference between the two.
07:06Casey's is a much lighter, more healthier.
07:08This is a real living person.
07:10You can also see that the foot soldiers is a little bit more, a little bit more darker
07:14in color.
07:15The nib, though, on the end of the peg is the giveaway.
07:17This tells you, though, which, which hands belong, though, to Casey Jones and which hand
07:21belongs to foot soldiers.
07:23They also, as well, selectively put them in the tray, designating by the character that
07:26they belong to.
07:27So, of course, all the foot soldiers are all on one side.
07:31All the Casey's are all on one side would belong with Casey.
07:35If you, though, do what I've done and just dump everything out of their trays, of course,
07:38when you're moving at the beginning of these reviews, you have to kind of remember which
07:41one goes with which.
07:43And there's a specific reasoning why you can't use one with the other.
07:46And it's more to do with, again, like little nibs on the end of it.
07:49Now again, with these, these are identical.
07:50These are both Casey Jones.
07:51But again, looking at the ones between that and the foot soldiers, not only is the size
07:55of the nib bigger, you can see as well, the length of the post is also different as well.
07:59So let's just say Casey Jones, by the way, does also come in clear with a pair of swappable
08:02arms.
08:03And the reason why they are swappable is because we're obviously going to be taking off these
08:07suit sleeves, suit sleeves, going to be taking those off.
08:12The jacket actually, in fact, does also open off as well.
08:15And you can swap them out for just regular sleeves for the shirt that matches underneath.
08:19If like, for example, like he already comes with like these relaxed hands, he also comes
08:22with a gripping hand.
08:23So if you want to get yourself the syrup dispenser, I know it's not really a syrup dispenser.
08:26You can also have them holding that as well.
08:29If though, let's just use the argument here.
08:31So I'm going to take one of the hands from Casey Jones.
08:33We're going to remove these.
08:34And by the way, these hands don't have to necessarily be committed to these sleeves
08:36specifically.
08:37Oh no, no, no.
08:39You can actually use them as well for Casey Jones, obviously.
08:41If we wanted to take ourselves a foot soldier hand, which has a smaller peg, which has a
08:45shorter post, you try to put it into Casey Jones's hands or sleeves.
08:49It's not going to fit.
08:50You could try as much as you want.
08:52You can force it in as far as you think you can get it, but it's not going to stay in
08:55place.
08:56So right away, you'll, you'll know which hands you'll be able to use.
08:59As for Casey Jones as well.
09:00Like I said, we already have the sleeve hands, we're eventually going to be taking off the
09:04suit jacket.
09:05Though before doing that, let's get a closer look at Casey himself.
09:08Now the thing I really like about this figure, and here's the thing I want to sell you guys
09:12on.
09:13If you're thinking to yourself, I have no interest at all to ever get my hands on a
09:16business suit Casey Jones, a foot soldier would be interesting because he's got the
09:19split down the middle, but this Casey Jones, I have little to no interest in.
09:23Let me sell you on this idea.
09:26First of all, Casey Jones does come with a masked head sculpt, which is the best head
09:29sculpt we've gotten from Casey.
09:31It's non-removable, so you can't take it off.
09:33But though, if you compare it with the original Casey Jones head sculpt we got, which happens
09:37to be this one right here, while it was fine for its time, I do think this is a much vastly
09:42better head sculpt.
09:43You can see like the eyes are a little bit smaller, the way they've painted the face
09:46a little bit cleaner.
09:48The neat thing about that though, is that you can change the heads if you wanted to.
09:52If down the road though, I mean, what my plan is looking at this, cause I don't have, I
09:56don't know if I'm going to be picking up a second set of these, but if I wanted to get
09:58a second set, I would probably have both Casey Jones with their masks on.
10:02My plan for right now at least, is to take this head sculpt off, and swap it out with
10:07the OG Casey Jones, and you're then thinking to yourself, well now he's going to have no
10:10head.
10:11Well, what you could always do, is you could use the head from the original Casey, as an
10:15option, as an available option, or you can also do the next thing as well.
10:19The figure comes in clue with an unmasked Casey Jones, that has bandages all across
10:22his face.
10:24This kind of looks like me when I get home from the end of a long work day, I just think
10:28to myself, I open the door, I can barely find the energy to walk myself inside the door.
10:32I get asked, how was your day, and I usually just say, and I just walk past the kitchen.
10:38Maybe I have a few more bandages on the front of my face, but it's very similar.
10:41I think my hair is a little bit shorter as well than Casey Jones.
10:44But to change out the head sculpts, this is what you're going to want to do.
10:47So we're just going to hold on to the torso, hold on for dear life, and you have to wiggle
10:51this off.
10:52Now it's on a fairly large ball joint, but it was smart though on NECA's part, that they
10:57deliberately made this in a way that you could swap it out with the original Casey Jones.
11:00So again, I just happen to have the OG Casey Jones right here.
11:03We're going to pop the head off on this, and that was a lot easier to do.
11:07We can take the new head on, and we're just going to pop it in place.
11:11And right away, right away, we have a vastly better looking Casey.
11:14This is where we started from on our journey.
11:16This is where we're now ending up our journey.
11:18The head sculpt, or at least the mask, is a little bit smaller in size.
11:22This lets her a little bit more closer to at least where his mouth is.
11:25The nose is about the same.
11:26The eyes are really the big dead giveaway that there's an updated head sculpt now on
11:29the shoulders of Casey.
11:31Now again, if you wanted to, you could in theory, because of course it's using the exact
11:34same socket.
11:35You could then swap it out with basic business suit Casey Jones if you wanted to.
11:39And then if you want to still keep the mask on him, you could do it really that way.
11:43For at least my plans right now is going to be displaying Casey Jones, the original Casey,
11:46with this head sculpt.
11:47Granted, though, the coloring of his face isn't quite matching, so you can see like
11:51his neck, his arms aren't quite really the same color as his ears, but it's enough of
11:55a close enough resemblance of color that I don't feel like it's a different head sculpt
11:58belonging literally on a different body, which is really what it is.
12:01Now while we have that head sculpt for Casey way off to the side, let's tackle at least
12:06the idea that he now has this unmasked head.
12:09So what we're going to do is we're going to go back to the body.
12:11It's going to be decapitated no longer.
12:13And we're going to put a little bit of pressure on this.
12:15There we go.
12:16We want to just make sure that we've got ourselves the masked head sculpt or unmasked head sculpt
12:19on instead.
12:21With this version of Casey Jones, really again, love the idea that we got ourselves finally
12:25an unmasked Casey.
12:26He does also have a removable jacket, which is a neat thing too.
12:29So not only, usually this would be the case if I say in reviews, well, if you could take
12:33the jacket off, what still would be left behind is obviously the suit sleeves.
12:38Not this time around, my friend, not this time.
12:40What you can do though, is that you can just pop the arms off.
12:43One of my biggest worries was that I wasn't sure if really the pegs are going to be easy
12:47to take off, and they are.
12:48You just pop them off.
12:49I got a little bit of mark there on the shoulder.
12:51Anyways, we're just going to pop these off.
12:55Actually, this arm right here was the harder of the two.
12:57There we go.
12:58We just kind of pop those off.
12:59And then once those are now off, we can also do away with obviously the jacket.
13:03So the way that the jacket works, first of all, it's soft plastic.
13:07There's pegs on the inside.
13:08There's holes then on the other, and they line themselves up and you put the jacket
13:11on that way.
13:12It's like just a regular person.
13:13You just take this off.
13:14One of my other worries was really was using the gray plastic.
13:18I thought maybe that would end up staining the white.
13:20There are a few little marks there on the back of his shirt, but not to the point where
13:24I feel like any stain has come off the jacket itself.
13:26Again, the jacket is just going to be up on a piece.
13:29What are we going to do with this?
13:30We're just going to put it off to the side for right now.
13:31And then we'll go ahead and take Casey Jones's new arms.
13:34We just want to make sure we've got these facing the right way here.
13:38So this arm is going to go on this side.
13:41And again, we're just going to pop it in place.
13:44And then we're going to do the exact same thing on this side, although this side arm
13:47unfortunately doesn't have hands.
13:49We're going to fix that shortly.
13:50Let's grab ourselves a hand.
13:51We want to make sure, of course, it's one that belongs to Casey Jones.
13:54We're going to plug that in place.
13:56Now I have this one shoulder that's a little on the tighter side, not too tight where I
14:00feel.
14:01See, I did end up getting the wrong hand on there, so we're going to swap out the hand
14:04in a second.
14:05But all in all, that's what Casey Jones would then look like without the shirt, without
14:09the jacket, I should say, without the jacket sleeves.
14:11And we'll just put them again off to the side.
14:14Detailing on the figure looks again fantastic.
14:17Paint's really good on this as well.
14:18Paint would be obviously one thing you'd really have to worry about if it wasn't...
14:22In this case, obviously, it's cast in white plastic, so you don't really have as much
14:25to worry about.
14:26They've nicely panel-lined some wrinkles there on the sleeves, as well as the front of the
14:29shirt.
14:30Of course, he's got himself there as well, the tie.
14:32The tie, I was really also surprised to see, is a separate piece.
14:35It's not molded and just painted onto his body.
14:37He's got some slacks down below.
14:39It looks like he's pressed those slacks.
14:40You always really want to press a slack, not only when you're doing a job interview, but
14:43when you're also going in for the first week of your job.
14:46After that, you can kind of, I don't want to say neglect your duties of properly tailoring
14:50yourself, but I think that you have to kind of make a good first impression for that first
14:53week or two.
14:54Even, let's just say, the first month.
14:56After that, you can probably let it slack a little bit.
14:58Speaking of slacking, though, the slacks themselves have wrinkles there on the tops.
15:02Those have been panel-lined.
15:04There's not really much in the way of the rest of it.
15:05He does, though, still have the darker coloring here on the back of the body.
15:09They haven't necessarily done away with that.
15:10The original Turtles kind of introduced that.
15:12The original KC Jones also had, I think, a little bit of that as well.
15:16Maybe not to the degree of what we're getting here with the new KC, though.
15:19Now for the figure's articulation.
15:21If you're familiar with KC, it's pretty much going to be exactly the same.
15:23Head's going to be on a ball joint, which I don't think I have all the way on there.
15:26The head's going to be on a ball joint.
15:27It looks up.
15:28It looks down.
15:29You can also, yes, move it back and forth.
15:30The arms rotate all the way around, all the way around.
15:32You can hinge those out.
15:33There's a swivel at the bicep, double hinge on the elbow, and even though I've really
15:37got the wrong hand on the side, I mean, obviously, the hands will rotate the exact same way.
15:41They rotate back and forth.
15:42You can also hinge them back and forth.
15:44The waist isn't necessarily on, well, it seems to be on a little bit of a ball joint where
15:48you can move it up, down, a little bit back and forth.
15:50So let's stick with the idea that it's actually a ball joint.
15:52The lower half of his pants are using a softer plastic.
15:55Not to the point, though, where it looks or feels like it's actually a figure diaper.
15:59Legs split out.
16:00You can see there's the ball joint working behind the scenes.
16:02The legs move forward.
16:03The legs move back.
16:04The legs swivel there from the top of the thigh, double hinge on the knee, and then
16:07KC Jones does have ankle articulation, both up and down, back and forth.
16:12This whole time of doing this, I know I haven't really, I've let you guys all down.
16:15Of course, the golf bag can go on his head.
16:18The easiest thing, though, to do is if you want to put it over top of his body, take
16:21the head off first.
16:22Whether you're using this one, whether you're using the mast head, you want to take the
16:26head off first, and then you can put the golf bag on his body.
16:29The weight, though, of all the things that are on the back of the bag does result in
16:32the figure kind of feeling like the bag's going to be falling off his body.
16:36There's also a lot of stress now adding to the straps, but all in all, though, a nice
16:39looking KC Jones.
16:40Whether you're in the market of getting this guy solely for the fact that you just love
16:43that specific episode.
16:44Oh, see, I'm just dropping all the twos.
16:45Just dropping all the twos.
16:46Let's move those all out of the way.
16:48Whether you're invested in the idea of getting KC Jones specifically for this episode, or
16:52perhaps you might be even more invested in the idea of getting this figure solely for
16:56the fact that he has two different head sculpts, really, too, you could use this head sculpt
17:00if you wanted to with the original OG KC Jones, but I think my plan long-term until I eventually
17:06get myself a second set of these is to use this head sculpt, the one that comes in clue
17:10with business suit KC Jones, and using it with the OG KC Jones because it works so much,
17:15I feel, nicer than the original one we got before.
17:18So with that KC Jones now out of the way, let's move our focus now onto the Foot Soldier.
17:22Foot Soldier isn't just simply a packed-in figure that's a filler.
17:25No, no, no.
17:26Foot Soldier's got some pretty interesting things going on for him.
17:29First of all, he comes in clue with a little blaster, which I'm sure we have gotten this
17:32blaster countless times before.
17:33I don't recall it being as creamish, creamish, creamish is not even a word, as cream of a
17:38color as what we're getting right here.
17:40We've got some dark grays there, we've got some medium grays added, and some glorious
17:43panel lining added in there as well.
17:47We've got a few little nibs there on the end painted in red, a larger nib on the side
17:50also painted in red, and of course he does come in clue with accommodating hands to hold
17:54the blaster.
17:55In fact, we can do that right now.
17:57The hand holds the blaster, as you can see right there, it's one of the many hands that
17:59come in clue with Foot Soldier.
18:00Ironically enough though, Foot Soldier has more hands at his disposal than Casey Jones
18:04does have.
18:06He has right now closed fists on the ends of his forearms, the figure does have a slightly
18:10smaller gripping hand, and the whole time I keep looking at this, I want to make sure
18:13I'm looking at actually Foot Soldier's hands, yeah, look at the smaller nibs.
18:16So he's got a gripping hand, he's got a slightly more trigger-firing hand, he's also got himself
18:21a slightly smaller gripping hand.
18:22Some of these hands don't necessarily make as much sense.
18:25This one makes sense, this one makes sense, because of course you want to have him holding
18:28the blaster.
18:29I think though, with a smaller grip like this, I don't think these work as well, honestly.
18:33But yet, if you look at it compared to Casey Jones, I almost feel as if these hands were
18:36probably molded with the intended mind, or the idea in mind, that these were supposed
18:41to be used originally for Casey Jones, because these hands work though a little bit better
18:45for things like his hockey stick.
18:47You can slide, well maybe not the hockey stick, you'd have to pry the plastic a little bit
18:49more away.
18:50But it seems like the grip I think works a little bit better for Casey, but it's just
18:54not a hand that you can use, more specifically because of the pegs that they're using.
18:58The last thing that the foot soldier also comes in clear with is a pair of relaxed hands.
19:02And again, it's just a case of taking the hands that he has right now, and just wiggle
19:06them off the provided post.
19:08And if you're having any struggle, by the way, I'm not having as much of a struggle,
19:11but if you're having a struggle, you can easily just heat the hands, or heat the forearms
19:14in hot water.
19:15You can also use as well the trick of the hairdryer, and just pop the hands that you
19:18want to use in place instead.
19:20No sense really putting this guy back down, getting a closer look at the foot soldier.
19:23The thing I will say right away that I like about him, is not necessarily the fact that
19:27he has a split in the middle.
19:29He has what you could say separation anxiety.
19:32I'm here all day.
19:33The thing though I really like about the foot soldier is not just the fact that he's split
19:36in the middle, but the colors that they went with.
19:38The thing I've always really said about the original foot soldiers, while I thought the
19:41color worked really well, he really needed an upgrade with a much more vibrant paint
19:45application.
19:46What we're getting now with the foot soldier is unfortunately now a reminder that the original
19:49foot soldiers look a little bit more faded, much more darker in color.
19:53I like the approach that they've now gone with the blue, or this bluish purple that
19:57they're using.
19:58The bodies are somewhat similar.
20:01If you say look at the legs, the feet, the legs obviously, the lower skirting, and even
20:06the arms.
20:07The arms, I don't think there's really anything at all difference with all those things I've
20:10just mentioned.
20:11The only real difference that is made is obviously in the head, and now the torso.
20:15The torso is almost, what, half a torso wider than the original foot soldier, and even then
20:20just to compare it with the one that was split in the middle, again, it's the same body,
20:24so they're using the same lower legs.
20:26They're still using the same arms, but heads can be different, and obviously there's a
20:29big difference really with the severed torso, and the fact that this one is now split in
20:33the middle.
20:34I just love, again, the variety of these, and Neck was so creative with the idea of
20:38let's not just release a regular foot soldier, I mean, because again, for anyone who's army
20:43building these, I'm army building these, you could simply just have released multitudes
20:47of these in different packs.
20:49At one point, that's what they were essentially doing.
20:51They were releasing a lot of foot soldiers with the actual turtles, and then after that,
20:54they started to kind of branch out and got a little bit more creative, and no more creative
20:58is obviously the one that we're getting here with this foot soldier.
21:00He's, again, cut right down the middle.
21:02I love the wires and all the things that they've sculpted on the inside of this.
21:05This looks like a robot.
21:06There's no fooling otherwise.
21:08He still has the eyes on either side, and in a way, I kind of think it's a sad expression
21:12that the foot soldier has on either side.
21:14He realizes he's been defeated as well, even though it's a little harder to make out.
21:19They've even printed on the foot soldier logo, half the foot is on one side, and literally,
21:25literally, the other half of the foot is on the other.
21:28Nice use of the yellows there on the side.
21:29Again, you got some great panel lining there on the front of his face.
21:32He unfortunately does lose now.
21:34He sacrifices, obviously, head articulation.
21:36There's really no way that they'd be able to incorporate that and incorporate this as
21:40one package deal, so you sacrifice this for the benefit of this, and again, just look
21:44at the inner cavity of that.
21:47Now again, it does make his body a little bit wider.
21:49It's not a bad thing at all.
21:50Again, the arms and the lower legs are going to be exactly the same, but again, the real
21:53big thing is the fact that not only is he a brighter color, but also if you look as
21:58well at the foot soldiers, the one thing that's also now missing on the newer foot soldier
22:01is that he doesn't have the back shadowing.
22:03See how the original one would have had it on the back of his head, the back of his shoulders,
22:07and down below on the back of his body?
22:08The new foot soldier seems to kind of just keep the colors very much consistent, so the
22:13colors on the front of the purple are just as bright as the colors on the back of his
22:16body, so there's nothing at all that they've changed.
22:18In a way, though, I kind of like the idea that they didn't feel the need to add shadowing
22:22on the back of the figure's body.
22:23It's worked with some of the turtles.
22:25I think the idea of getting a foot soldier like this is kind of a breath of fresh air
22:27that we get now, no shadowing on the back.
22:30I would honestly be okay if they did away with the idea of that with figures moving
22:34forward.
22:35Now for the figure's articulation for the foot soldier, we're now already realizing
22:38the fact that you can't do much really with his head.
22:40You can, though, still swivel his body.
22:42It swivels only just a little bit.
22:45His arms hinge out, still at the 90 degree angle bend.
22:47You can still move the arms forward, and you can still move the arms back, and so swivel
22:51at the bicep.
22:52The figure does have a double hinge on the elbow, and the hands, yes, rotate all the
22:55way around.
22:56Legs split out.
22:57Again, you've got the lower skirting that's a softer plastic, so, I mean, also you've
23:00got a little slip on the side, so between those two, there's no problems at all with
23:03the foot soldier doing the splits.
23:05He moves forward, he moves back for his legs, at least.
23:08You can swivel at the top of the thigh.
23:10Double hinge on the knee.
23:11Articulation here as well for the boots, and there's also, as well, the ankle pivot back
23:15and forth and ankle rocker as well.
23:17That's to be said for this set, lots of selling points, I would say.
23:21Like, if I was advertising this, which I guess in some ways I am, if I was to market this
23:25to you guys, one thing I would market right away is the fact that, first of all, we get
23:28ourselves an unmasked Casey Jones.
23:30The biggest thing, though, I would sell this set on is the fact that you also get yourself
23:33a Casey Jones, which, again, was really smart on NECA's part that they actually manufactured
23:37in such a way that it's using, again, the exact same ball joint.
23:40It does, though, unfortunately, sacrifice something in the way of height.
23:43If you're looking at display like Casey Jones together, you'll notice right away, though,
23:47the corporate version of Casey is a lot taller than the original OG Casey.
23:52Not much that you can really do with that.
23:53I'm not really having any plans anyways to have these displayed.
23:56I think, like, Channel 6, like, if I have myself a setup, which I kind of have right
24:00now with April O'Neil and, you know, some of the members of Channel 6 News, might probably
24:04just have Casey Jones displayed in somewhat of a setup there, and then I'll just end up
24:07using that head sculpt, this head sculpt here, for the OG.
24:11Long term, though, down the road, I'd like to get myself a second set of these because
24:14I think I would rather have Casey Jones in the corporate suit with the mask on, but it's
24:18too good of a head sculpt and it's too tempting of an idea to not want to use it with the
24:22original OG.
24:23And then, of course, we've got ourselves, then, foot soldiers.
24:25We've got ourselves another variety of foot soldier.
24:28This again was the original one here.
24:30I say original.
24:31I probably have, I don't know, like five or six, five or six of these of the original
24:34foot soldiers, which were, again, like fine foot soldiers for their time.
24:37They still continue to be great fodder as well for the Turtles.
24:40If you're one that likes to army build, one of my favorite things to army build in my
24:43collection is actually foot soldiers.
24:44I like the idea that we get ourselves, again, variations of it.
24:47We started kind of, did we start the journey with the one that was split in the middle?
24:50I feel like we did.
24:51And then after that, of course, it's been sky's the limit.
24:53I don't know really what else they could really do with other foot soldiers after this.
24:56I mean, obviously, they could start to remove arms.
24:58They could start to remove legs.
25:00I feel still that they could probably release, why is this guy not standing?
25:02I feel like they could probably release, at the very least, maybe a foot soldier accessory
25:06pack.
25:07There you go.
25:08Release a foot soldier accessory pack where, again, it would just be like random heads,
25:12random arms.
25:13Just garbage.
25:14Just like foot soldier garbage.
25:15Not that you would necessarily want to package the package like that.
25:18Again, I probably would have to know a little bit more about marketing.
25:21That's probably not the best thing to call it.
25:22But yeah, all in all, just a great looking set.
25:24If you're on the fence and you're not quite sure, do I really need to pull the trigger
25:27when it comes to getting the business suit Casey Jones and a split foot soldier?
25:31I would say yes.
25:32A resounding yes.
25:33Not only just for what the set offers, but what the set can also give you as well for
25:37future ideas.
25:38By the looks of it, Casey might be putting a few extra hours at the office.
25:43Swinging a hockey stick, which I don't think an actual hockey stick would be able to slice
25:45through foot soldier metal.
25:47I mean, I know from at least my personal experiences of slap shotting hockey sticks that they're
25:51generally quite brittle.
25:52As a kid, I went over to my friend's house just as a side tangent.
25:55He had just gotten a brand new hockey stick for his birthday.
25:57Phillip, oh, I feel bad.
25:59I asked if I could play hockey with him.
26:00I asked if I could borrow his brand new hockey stick.
26:03And what did I do?
26:04It didn't involve a puck, but it certainly did involve a tennis ball.
26:07I slap shotted it so hard against the concrete that I snapped the hockey stick.
26:12I felt so bad.
26:14Phillip just looked at me.
26:15He looked at now his broken birthday gift.
26:17In hindsight, I probably should have offered to pay and replace the hockey stick, but what
26:20do I know?
26:21I was probably like seven years old.
26:23Kids don't know much about anything back then, especially when it comes to the durability
26:26of hockey sticks.
26:28Don't slap shot a hockey stick unless you know it's only going to be making contact
26:32with the ball or the puck and not going to be making contact with the road.
26:36Anyways, though, going back to...
26:38Can we please...
26:39Can we go back to Casey Jones?
26:40Yes, let's go back to Casey Jones.
26:42One little correction I did want to make for something I mentioned in this review or something
26:44I did show you in the review, I did, though, put the golf bag on the wrong way.
26:48If you put it on the right way, that I've got the right way going right now, then the
26:51hockey stick or hockey bag, the golf bag, stands fine upright.
26:56And then, of course, none of the contents, any of the contents that you put inside the
26:59bag won't then fall all over the place like I did in this review.
27:02Butterfingers.
27:03Still, though, nice-looking set that we're getting here with both a business suit Casey
27:07Jones and the Foot Soldier.
27:09One smart thing was not only the fact that they did decide to give Casey Jones a removable
27:12jacket and sleeves.
27:13Hey, that was a good idea.
27:15But also, as well, the best idea, I feel, is that they used the same universally same-sized
27:19ball joint pegs as the original OG Casey Jones.
27:23So if you did want to use, like I'm using right now, the alternate head sculpt, or I
27:26suppose probably the head sculpt that started in the packaging with him, decided instead
27:30to use that with the original OG.
27:31I keep saying OG.
27:33The original.
27:34The original Casey Jones.
27:35You can do that.
27:36Clever, though, on NECA's part.
27:37Thank you, NECA, for deciding to do that.
27:39So if collectors did want to update their Casey Jones, they can using the one that gets
27:43packaged here with the business suit release.
27:46The Foot Soldier, though, is no slouch.
27:48One of the best versions, variations of Foot Soldiers that we've gotten here where we actually
27:52have them split down the middle like a banana split.
27:54I could really go with a banana.
27:56It's a hot day right now.
27:57I could really go with a banana split.
27:59When was the last time I've had a banana split?
28:00When was the last time I talked about banana splits?
28:03Nobody cares.
28:04I do hope, though, that if you guys do care about Ninja Turtles and certainly the stuff
28:08that we're getting from NECA Toys, you'll already have on your radar the business suit
28:11Casey Jones and the Foot Soldier.
28:13Not for the fact that we get ourselves just a pretty cool looking Foot Soldier, but the
28:16fact as well that you can use Casey Jones head sculpt with the original one that we
28:21got before.
28:22Big thank you once again to the folks over at NECA that provided the sample of the Teenage
28:25Mutant Ninja Turtles business suit Casey Jones and split down the middle Foot Soldier that
28:30we had the chance to have a look in this review.
28:32What do you guys think of the set?
28:33Let me know down below.
28:34And is this a set you guys could see yourselves picking up solely for the face so you could
28:37use it with your original?
28:39That's the original Casey Jones.
28:40Let me know down below in the comments section.
28:42In the meantime, though, hey, hey now, if you guys did enjoy this video, not tarnished
28:47at all by the idea that I broke some kid's birthday hockey stick, I still feel so bad
28:51about that.
28:52Hit this video with a like.
28:53Why not?
28:54Why not?
28:55If you also want to stick around for more, I certainly hope so, hit that subscribe, turn
28:58on the bell, come back, please.
29:00As always, guys, thanks for watching.
