00:09yesterday they came here with a great opening the fire department was there
00:12even Fiat's skiing on water it was amazing but I hope you guys enjoy the
00:17day and we are now in one of the main lounges the idea is to give you guys a
00:20little grand mini tour you got that Grammy tour and if you like it you know
00:25it's another cruise here in Miami that you can take being a tourist or being a
00:27local all right enjoy the show hello hello well welcome aboard everyone on
00:32the beautiful ship the MSC Divina everybody your name my name is Manuel I
00:36come all the way from Germany but born and raised in Africa now I live in
00:39Spain so I'm a mixed salad she says she doesn't know where you know where she's
00:42from anymore I like that though yes well thanks God I have a name tag it reminds
00:46me actually what my name is where I'm from well Manuel is gonna be giving us
00:50a tour today so let's begin the same way that you were to give it to me they're
00:53gonna come with us
00:58staircases these are the beautiful Swarovski staircases with real Swarovski
01:02crystals inside and one would cost approximately around five to six
01:07thousand dollars just one step we're stepping on royalty we are stepping so

01:49surprised on how much art there actually is hidden in each corner yes

03:28beautiful elegant lounge this is where our entertainment activities take place

03:38of the ship okay though this is a black and white lounge so um oh my god you
03:44have to be here and there's an echo when it's imagine I can't even suppose to
03:48be in a machine to run around you know coming around the end I mean I can't be

06:15a very exclusive tables yes because of that side is the Italia side okay with
06:20a deal with a set menu there's a normal a glass of sparkling wine compulsory and
06:25menu with the one appetizer one pasta one main course and one dessert they
06:28change every night oh you have enough room for everybody
06:37well I could then it was a visit that the quarter para cada persona and people
06:41here order in the bar we have that menu
06:46this is a menu santi pasto compasta every more than pequeño entretanto it
06:53wasn't that small as I thought it's very exclusive only for tables this is the
06:58house with the kind of appetizer like Parma like beef carpaccio with a salad
07:03we have also special pasta from Regnano Italian please for a pasta and we have
07:09a two kind of main course we have the American meat the Angus meat and the
07:14Italian like the T-bone steak with Fiorentina which is making me hungry I
07:18don't like this we haven't had lunch yet all right well thank you very much and

12:35la luna we're heading now to the theater the theater consists of two decks and we
12:42have seats for 1,600 guests mil 600 invitados se pueden sentar justamente en
12:48el teatro donde vamos a entrar ahora es bueno así que se imaginan no si ustedes
12:54acuerdan hace dos años cuando cubrimos el crucero más grande del mundo el
12:58teatro también era enorme por supuesto que no vamos a comparar los tamaños
13:02todos tienen su lujo pero ellos también me han dicho de que la compañía ya que
13:06es europea y se ha instalado aquí en miami con el primer crucero que van a
13:10comenzar tienen la idea en hacer un crucero así de grande también como el
13:13más grande del mundo so if you guys remember two years ago we covered the
13:16largest cruise in the world you know the theater was amazing it was huge of course
13:22every single cruiser cruise ship has its glamour and this one in particular this
13:26company is from Europe it's a first ship that they've installed here in Miami and
13:30their idea is also to create you know really really a larger cruise later on
13:35so I can't wait to see that so you have a great angle from down below watch your
13:43step right here lights will continue the tour from you guys saw that right I just

16:08so you can experience that in any cruise
16:10and I think it's also kind of like a discharge
16:12for a lot of people that live in Miami
16:14since you can't gamble in Miami
16:16you go ahead and just gamble overseas right
16:18now the funny thing is that of course all the cruises have casinos
16:20in Miami
16:22here of course it's not legal
16:24to have casinos so you can start playing
16:26once you cross
16:28let's say the American waters
16:30but
16:32they've even made for Miami
16:34a cruise that leaves every night
16:36in a casino
16:38but as you know all the cruises have a casino inside
16:40look at the beautiful lights as well
16:42you love the lights right
16:44I just like the artwork

21:28but that is my favorite chocolate ever
21:30especially because of what you can find inside
21:32I remember when we went to Spain
21:34I posted on Instagram
21:36I love Kinder, it's my favorite chocolate
21:38and in the United States, at least here in Miami
21:40there isn't any, and if there is, please let me know
21:42but the idea is that if you come here
21:44at least you take some chocolates in your pocket

22:00he's the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
22:02and we are still on board
22:04of the MSC Divina
22:06after a long tour, how are you Ken?
22:08I'm great, welcome aboard
22:10thank you so much, I have to say that we had so many crew members
22:12helping us out and give us a grand tour
22:14and it's amazing, you did a great job
22:16well I wish I could take all the credit
22:18we had a great crew and a bunch of people that worked back at the office
22:20to make all this happen
22:22so this whole launch in Miami is huge for us
22:24and it's super exciting
22:26now I heard that you guys are this big family
22:28I mean you've been on board for what, six months already?
22:30well the team is on board
22:32for usually six months, I myself have not been
22:34I don't know if I could last that long
22:36but I've been on and off for the last few weeks
22:38and everyone's just doing an incredible job
22:40we've been putting them through a lot of training
22:42getting ready for the North American market
22:44changing up things on the ship
22:46and it's great to finally be here
22:48now you are a European company right?
22:50and how did you have to change things to come
22:52and be accepted also in America?
22:54well you know we are a European company
22:56and what we call ourselves is MSC
22:58which is Mediterranean style cruising
23:00and so even in North America you're going to have that Mediterranean style
23:02the homemade pastas and the fine wines
23:04and the relaxed atmosphere and sometimes the party atmosphere
23:06but for the North American audience
23:08we had to change it up a little bit
23:10like we have English speaking on board predominantly
23:12we don't translate the announcements into five different languages
23:14all the time like we might in Europe
23:16we changed the smoking policy
23:18we have some more of the comfort foods that North Americans like
23:20in the sports bar and ESPN on TV
23:22so you know a few of those kinds of things
23:24but we didn't lose the Mediterranean feel
23:26which was very important for us
23:28yeah because I think that when you go into a cruise
23:30you know you want to actually experience a little bit
23:32something different than what you're used to
23:34so here in Miami or in the US of course
23:36yes you're right you know you're used to going to the bar
23:38and just maybe ordering a cheeseburger
23:40do we have some of those on board?
23:42we have the Italy and the pastas
23:44I've only for the last three days
23:46I've been eating in Italy
23:48and I'm not fitting in my suits anymore
23:50what are you doing?
23:52because you look very well fit to me
23:54I'm hiding it very well under my jacket
23:56alright so are you actually based in Italy
23:58or is it Europe per se?
24:00because I've seen a lot of Italian restaurants
24:02yeah the company is a family run company
24:04family owned company from Italy
24:06but our headquarters is actually in Geneva Switzerland
24:08we have 45 offices around the world
24:10many in Italy
24:12our North America headquarters is in Fort Lauderdale
24:14so we've got people all over the place
24:16and how long did it take you guys to actually come to Miami?
24:18I know it's your first time here but I also know that you've
24:20struggled a little bit the first time to get your cruise line here
24:22yeah you know we've actually been operating
24:24out of Fort Lauderdale
24:26out of Port Everglades for the last 10 years
24:28but this is our first time
24:30out of Port Miami and in the past
24:32we've only been here for a few months
24:34this is our first time now with a new ship
24:36the yacht club, a ship this size
24:38so we've been here year round which is the most exciting thing for us
24:40I heard that you guys, a little bird told me that you guys
24:42are also maybe thinking about doing a larger size
24:44cruise later on
24:46you never know, I will tell you that we have
24:48an incredible 12 ship fleet
24:50and we're always looking to grow
24:52and expand and the whole industry is growing
24:54so in order to stay competitive
24:56I wouldn't be surprised with some exciting news
24:58around the corner
25:00let's leave that business side aside
25:02and let's talk a little bit about cruising
25:04how many cruises have you actually been on?
25:06oh gosh, I've been in the industry for almost 20 years
25:08so countless
25:10you've seen them, everything
25:12it's not a bad job
25:14you guys love traveling
25:16and what is essential when you go on a trip
25:18I know a lot of you guys, maybe it's your first time going on a cruise
25:20so I'm sure you and your family
25:22you go on a cruise
25:24what do you look for specifically
25:26to go on that cruise?
25:28I think there's a few things, it really very much depends
25:30on the destination, where you want to go
25:32so if you want to go to Alaska or you want to go to Europe
25:34you have to prepare differently than if you want to go to the Caribbean
25:36so a lot of people decide where they want to go
25:38a lot of people decide the brand or the ship they want to go on
25:40based on the activities
25:42if they're going with family, friends
25:44that's why a lot of times we recommend using a travel agent
25:46because they can really help you make those decisions
25:48and choose the best cruise line and the best ship
25:50so there's so many factors that go into it
