00:00First of all, let's cross to Leo McGuinn, our reporter who's standing by for us in Montmartre,
00:05that hill in the north of Paris, where the road cyclists who set off from the
00:09Eiffel Tower a couple hours ago will arrive later today.
00:17Yeah, Peter, I'm here in Montmartre on that hill, as you say. They're going to be coming up this
00:23hill three times behind me. I just walked it once and I'm still out of breath, so I don't know how
00:29they're going to cycle it. You can hear the atmosphere here is absolutely incredible.
00:33There's people from all over. The cyclists are going to do a 273-kilometre stage today,
00:40which is actually a little bit longer than a Tour de France stage. In terms of favourites,
00:46look out for Remco Evenepoel of Belgium. He's already got a gold medal at these games so far
00:50in the time trial. He finished third at the Tour de France. At the moment, they're out in Versailles
00:55in the suburbs of Paris, but they'll come into Montmartre in about three hours' time. They'll do
00:59three laps of this and then they'll finish off at the Tour de France. As I said, there's people
01:05from all over the world. You know me, of course, I've found two very proud. One Irishman, one Irish
01:12woman. We can get them in now. We've got Hilary and James all the way from Cork. Hilary,
01:18I'll start with you. How long have you been here for the Olympics? We just came on Friday,
01:22so today's our second day here. Second day. Good introduction. You're already on live TV.
01:28How long have you been here waiting for the racing today, for the cycling? When did you get this
01:32position and put your Irish flag in position? We came about an hour ago, so not too long,
01:36but we got kind of lucky with our place. How long are you staying for, James? What are you most
01:41looking forward to seeing? We're here until Sunday and now we're looking forward to seeing
01:45Ben Healy come up here, the Irishman, so I'll be cheering him on very loudly now.
01:50Chance of a medal for Ben Healy? Potentially. Hopefully, no. Fingers crossed.
01:54Guaranteed medal for Ben Healy, according to James from Cork. James and Hilary from Cork,
01:59thank you very much. Fans from all over the world here are having a great time, so am I, Peter.
02:03Sounds like you're a little bit more optimistic even than James there. Thanks, Leo, for that.
02:08You better get on the other side of the barrier and join the Irish contingent before they start
02:14coming up, although it's in three hours and it's already absolutely buzzing there,
02:18so I can't imagine what it's going to be like then. Enjoy that, Leo. Thanks for the update.
