00:00This athletic family is growing.
00:06There were only 10 of them in Rio and 29 in Tokyo.
00:09But this year in Paris a record number of 37 athletes are competing as part of the Refugee Olympic Team.
00:15And for the first time in their history, they're in for a chance of winning a medal.
00:19Boxer Cindy Ngamba has qualified for the quarter finals.
00:23She's just one fight away from a spot on the podium.
00:26Born in Cameroon, she moved to the UK at the age of 11,
00:29later becoming a three-time English national champion there.
00:33Ngamba was chosen as one of the flag bearers for the opening ceremony
00:36and she has a message for refugees around the world.
00:39Never give up. The hard times will never last.
00:43There will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
00:45Even though it might not feel like there's nothing that can be changed,
00:50there will always be changes.
00:52I want people out there to believe in themselves and keep on pushing hard.
00:56The Refugee Team was founded by the International Olympic Committee in 2016
01:00to give these athletes a chance to compete
01:03and to draw attention to the growing number of refugees and displaced people around the world.
01:08We all have a right to be here, to realise our dreams,
01:12but my dream and the dream of all of us here
01:17is that in the future we can all live in peace
01:22and no one should lose their home.
01:25According to the United Nations,
01:26almost 110 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes.
