00:00So I am pit-side at the Japan National Stadium where Newcastle United just lost 2-0 here
00:06to Yokohama F Marinos. It was a tough evening for Newcastle now, you guys watching at home
00:14probably wouldn't have felt the conditions here but it was really hot and really humid
00:18and to be honest I think that played a part, particularly in that second half when there
00:23was a lot of changes. First half Newcastle were actually alright to be honest, they created
00:29chances but really just lacked that sort of final ball in the final third and then
00:35the changes came after half-time, at half-time alone there were seven changes, there was
00:40then three changes in the second half and Newcastle just couldn't get their rhythm.
00:45First half they won top but Yokohama opened the scoring and the second half as well, their
00:51home side got an early goal and that was really Newcastle evening done for after that. There
00:58was a couple of good performances out there, Bruno Gimaraes back, captain on the side today
01:03which I thought was interesting. There's a spot in the players' leadership group after
01:09Matt Ritchie's exit and Bruno getting the captain's armband maybe suggests that he will
01:13be the player that goes into that leadership group which for me is an obvious choice because
01:19he is a leader and he led by example out there tonight in that first half. He was at the
01:26heart of everything, he was a class above and that's what you expect from Bruno, that's
01:32what he is. Spoke at the end there, a lot of love for the fans, great to see him back
01:36in a Newcastle United top. I thought in the second half I thought Trevinson Nussi again
01:40was one of the highlights, he's had a really good pre-season, caught the eye, he says he's
01:44a little bit lightweight but he is only 17 years of age but he's had a really good pre-season
01:49so yeah, I wouldn't read too much on that result tonight, I'm sure there'll be some
01:53fans a bit disappointed that Newcastle did lose that 100%. Pre-season record is over,
01:59I know a lot of people don't look at pre-season but it's nice to win but as I say, tonight
02:04yeah, I wouldn't read too much on it. The hot and humid conditions were really difficult
02:08so back to England now where it should be cold, well it's summer but it will be cold
02:14because there hasn't been much of a summer. Next up, Salah weekend now and Newcastle United
02:18have a week to prepare for the Premier League season.
