00:00An important win for the Emu's race, great comeback after a slow start but this was a game that was a must win and you delivered.
00:08Yeah it was, I thought today we probably had our best side in and I think the first quarter they kicked the first five goals but I always felt like we were always in it, they were just real slick.
00:18And then from there we just wrestled momentum, got on top and I think from there it might have been an 11 goal turnaround so I felt like we were always the better team but yeah execution early just probably let us down.
00:29Still trailed by 20 points at half time but I think you would have felt that you'd worked yourself back into the game, what was the message at half time?
00:37Yeah there was no negative attitude, we honestly felt if you didn't look at the scoreboard that we were probably up so I felt like yeah positive just keep playing the way we did.
00:46We went man on man in the zone which I thought threw them out a bit, I think the first three kick out to the third quarter they just went torpedoes and straight down our throat, straight back over their heads so yeah I thought we executed the game well especially in the second half.
00:59And you took the game on like in the same way in effect that Dalish did early.
01:04Yep, yeah took it on and yeah just ran it into the ground so it was a good win but still a couple of games to go and I'm sure they'll be hard to beat, we'll probably meet them again so yeah.
01:14But an important win I mean in the context of the season you're still hoping to make a top four finish and this was an absolute must.
01:21Yep, yeah I think if we win out I think we make the top four Newland play, Dalish did last round so we'd leapfrog one of them if we won both their games but they had lost to Creswick the other week and I think Creswick nearly rolled Newland today and if it can happen so yeah.
01:37And top four would be a big achievement because that's really the next step that the club wants to take after becoming a regular finalist, you want to go to that next level don't you and that double chance could really open up the opportunities to go deep into the finals.
01:50Yeah, yeah we agree I think it's too hard probably from outside to forward to have four perfect leagues, the last two years we've done well and won the first final and probably put our eggs in the basket to win that and then the next week we've lost to Springbank by a couple of points to them, Hepburn by about two goals but it's yeah, get the luxury of winning the first week and then you set yourself up so hopefully we can hold strong and remain in two weeks.
