Easy Tricks to do french girl makeup
Transcript
00:00Hello everybody, today I want to show you some French girl aesthetic makeup. So
00:05what is this French aesthetic really? I look at it as chic, effortless, minimal,
00:13but very pulled together. All the things I like want to be. The same goes for like
00:20their wardrobe is very like simple yet effective and chic even when they get
00:26like work done. I mean women in France and people in France in general I should
00:32say, they're not like over filling and over botoxing to make everything
00:37completely you know flat and pulled and plump. They do a little bits here and
00:44there and it's very again minimal yet effective right? It's not there to like
00:51completely eradicate and change how they look. It's about emphasizing the
00:57things that they like about themselves or and like minimizing the things that
01:02maybe they don't without it being super obvious. And this is pretty much like my
01:07beauty aesthetic when it comes to doing makeup for myself or for my clients
01:10which will be easy to follow along with. Part of what's gonna make this easy to
01:14follow along with is that's gonna be minimal products and minimal tools. So I'm
01:19probably not gonna use any brushes. Most likely we'll just use my hands but yeah
01:25so it'll be really easy to follow along. To get the ball rolling I do want to
01:30focus on skin. I love a skin forward kind of look and I definitely want the skin
01:37to shine through. So I decided to take a few extra minutes before doing anything
01:41to do a little hydrating mask. So of course I'm going with my favorite Tata
01:45Harper hydrating floral mask. This is such a beautiful mask. I love it and I'm
01:50just gonna do a quick layer of this all over and let it sit for about ten
01:55minutes and then I will come back to do a tutorial. Okay it's been ten minutes I
02:00took the mask off. My skin is feeling plump and hydrated which is exactly what
02:06I wanted. So because this is a very skin focused skin forward look I'm just gonna
02:11focus on my skin prep and really what that means is I just want to address how
02:17my skin feels and give it what it needs today. That's what intuitive skincare is.
02:21Giving your skin what it needs day to day not just falling in the same routine
02:27which I'm guilty of doing too by the way. So to start I always love my hydrating
02:32mist and then I'm gonna go in with my little serum from Tata Harper. It's like
02:39a vitamin C kind of serum so this is gonna help with brightening and I also
02:44just like the way it feels.
02:56So nice. Next I'm gonna actually go in with my moisturizer of course also Tata
03:04Harper the Reparative Moisturizer. This is just my daily moisturizer.
03:15Lovely. So because this is a very minimal makeup look and I really want to focus
03:21on getting my skin looking and feeling as best as it can without anything on it
03:26I am gonna do a little bit of gua sha and the reason why I want to do this is
03:30because I do want to help create a little bit more sculpting in the face.
03:36I want to create a little more blood flow in my face to make my skin just
03:42look a little bit brighter and to help again to help with like a natural kind
03:45of contour so I don't actually have to go in and contour with makeup. Does that
03:50make sense? So when you gua sha your face you do want to apply a facial oil. Of
03:55course I love my Lali Plum Elixir. I also have jojoba oil nearby so any sort of
04:01face oil that you enjoy if you're in a pinch you can use olive oil. Olive oil is
04:05really great for your skin. I'm gonna do like a decent amount. I probably did
04:09like five droppers of this which is probably still not quite enough and I
04:14first start by pressing it onto my skin. I'm not really trying to massage it in
04:22because I need this for lubrication for the gua sha so it just glides. You don't
04:29ever want to be actively pulling or tugging at your skin and you don't need
04:34a lot of pressure either. It's just something to remember. So I'm gonna go
04:37ahead with this little gua sha stone and I'm gonna start along my jawline here
04:43and I also like to do a little wiggle.
04:55So basically I'm trying to like drain any build-up fluid down into my lip like
05:12down and out so it can get move through the body. Sometimes things get a little
05:20stagnant and that's the point of like a facial massage and facial gua sha.
05:28I always do a little zigzaggy side to side motions. It's kind of just like
05:33breaking up that fascia, breaking up all of that, loosening up the muscles where
05:42it holds tension right. Obviously this is a very sped up version. If you haven't
05:47noticed I'm a little distressed for time. I always finish with like a little
05:53down the neck to like help drain everything behind those lymph nodes. So I
05:59don't know if you can tell the difference but this definitely feels a
06:02little bit more lifted and sculpted. I'm just gonna go ahead and do the same
06:05thing on the other side. So it feels a little bit more sculpted. I feel a little
06:11bit more like refined. I don't know. I always like to finish with a little
06:15misture because it just feels good and then you can kind of wipe the oil off or
06:24I generally just massage it in because I run a little bit drier and I like the
06:29glow that it leaves on my skin. So that is that. Does this turn out more? No. Okay so next
06:37thing we're gonna do is I'm just gonna dive right in. So I am gonna like let
06:43this oil sink in for a moment and I'm gonna go in with my eyes. I'm gonna start
06:47very simple with Victoria Beckham these eye crayons. This is in Trench.
06:53They're like these little eye sticks of eyeshadow and you can just color them
06:59right on just like that and I'm just gonna smush it around with my finger. So
07:08Trench is like this nice neutral tone and it's just gonna help brighten my
07:13eyelid a little bit and then because of that I have some darkness on my eyelids
07:19but there's a little see that darkness is still kind of hanging in my crease so
07:24I'm kind of creating that natural definition just by highlighting my
07:29eyelid. Okay next. Let's see what's going on here. I'm gonna take another one of
07:41her eye sticks. This is in Pecan. Pecan? Pecan? How do you say it? How do you like
07:47to pronounce it? Which is more of like a brown brownie kind of shade. I'm gonna move my mirror a
07:54little bit closer. I'm just gonna kind of like run this along the lash line to
08:02get a little definition. So it's like eyeliner that's not eyeliner if that
08:08makes sense. It's gonna give me a little definition. I'll see how it just kind of
08:12changes the way my eyes look.
08:19And these things like once they are, I'm working fairly quickly, once they're set
08:24they set like they're not going anywhere. Okay I'm gonna do this under the eyes too.
08:32Simple. C'est bon. C'est bon. The only tool I'll probably be using today, good old
08:42eyelash curler. Open up those eyes.
08:47Next I'm just gonna go with a very simple mascara, my Tare 28 which you know
08:51I love. I'm gonna go in and really focus it on the root out to the ends. That's gonna
09:02give me the most bang for my buck when it comes to applying your mascara.
09:08There's one coat. I'm gonna go in for a second coat. Something I do like to do is
09:15actually kind of prop my eyelid up a little like that. See how it just lifts
09:20the lashes so I can get really tight.
09:25Beautiful. A little bit on the bottom too. Okay so the trick when you smudge
09:29mascara on your eye makeup, under your eyes, whatever, let it dry and then it'll
09:35just flake off later so it just saves you a big mess. So I'm just gonna leave
09:38any smudging that happened and get back to it later. So let's move on to my skin.
09:42That's pretty much it for my eyes. I just want to go in with an illuminating kind
09:48of primer to give me that like glowy effect. I don't plan on putting any
09:53foundation on my skin today. I really want to go for that luminous, minimal,
09:57effortless kind of look. My skin is actually in pretty decent shape. I have a
10:03little bit of a blemish, a couple blemishes right there and my redness
10:08tones down when I'm tan. Like it's, you don't notice that the pink down here as
10:13much. So it is slightly pinker here but it doesn't bother me. And again it'll
10:19create that more natural looking skin finish which essentially is going to
10:23just help this look to feel again more effortless. If it's not too perfected and
10:29not too like every little detail is touched and primped and covered, that's
10:36not what we're going for today. We're going for like that natural, minimal, yet
10:42effective kind of approach. So anyways, going with the Cure Vice. What do
10:47they call this? This is their beautiful primer and it really is beautiful. So I
10:52will show you. It's kind of opalescent. See how it gives a nice little glow to
11:00the skin? So I'm just gonna apply this basically everywhere because I want that
11:05glow all over. It's just gonna make everything look super luminous and alive
11:12and pretty. This is a lovely primer. It feels nice and light and I just love
11:27what it does for my skin. So it's giving me the highlight that I like. So I don't
11:31need to add highlighter. It's all about like minimizing your steps, right? The
11:39steps you have to take to get this look. So now I'm gonna go in with my LYS
11:46concealer. This is MP3 and I'm just gonna dot where I
11:55feel like I need it. Always starting with the little around the eyes to kind of
12:00help, you know, diffuse any discoloration.
12:10I'm just tapping it with my finger. I'm not wiping, right? I'm not wiping. If you
12:15wipe, you're just gonna wipe the product around and it causes a lot more friction.
12:18So tapping, little gentle tapping motions. Kind of gently blend it all
12:23together. This really does not deviate far from like my everyday or my
12:34makeup look when I do decide to do my makeup. Okay, so I'm gonna use the same
12:38one because I'm tanned. I'm just gonna touch up little blemishes and I mean, you
12:48know, I'm gonna hit right here because it's a little pinker than I thought now
12:52that I've gotten a little distance. Again, just tapping it in. It's a little pink on
12:59my chin.
13:06And just tap in those little blemished areas. Take any leftover from here and
13:15smush it around where I see other redness.
13:23Gorgeous.
13:37Okay, I'm gonna go back in to just retouch this little spot. So sometimes I'll go in
13:45the first time and then I'll go in the second time a little bit more precisely
13:51and just try to gently tap it until it disappears like magic. Okay, that's good.
14:02I'm not even kidding. Now let's go in. Again, more multi-use. The Jamie makeup
14:10light lighter and this one is gonna be in the cherry one. So this is her deepest
14:15shade, I believe. Like this very reddish one and I don't really need much. I
14:20actually have a little natural flush on my cheeks and on my nose. It might be a
14:24little bit of sunburn, I'm not gonna lie. And we're just gonna tap a little bit on
14:28the cheek and gently tap it out. This doesn't seem like I'm being very gentle
14:38but I am. Right? It's actually nice. I'm gonna take the leftovers on my finger
14:46while I have it. I'm just put it on my lips.
14:53It gives me that nice color especially since I did a little something on the
15:00eyes. I'm using the palm of my hand if I feel like I need to like help blend a
15:06little bit more. And then I'm just gonna take whatever is left, not much, and just
15:11kind of swipe it along my eye here.
15:18It kind of brings that color into the eyes. That's a little on the eyes, a little
15:23on the lips. Oh my gosh, the last part. We got to do the brows. I'm just gonna comb
15:27through. We're almost there. Look how fast and easy this was. It's been, well, this has
15:33been 18 minutes. That's because I'm talking and looking for stuff. Okay, I'm not as
15:39organized. I should be more organized. Oh, there you are. Okay, I'm gonna use the
15:43Kierweiss brow gel. So scrape off some of this and hit my brow. Some of my
15:54favorite tricks for a natural brow is to just go in with your brow gel first. So
16:00your tinted brow gel because this does quite a bit. It's gonna help fluff them
16:06up a little. Fill in a little bit. I go with the clean spoolie to help disperse
16:12it. Make sure there's no clumps. Just kind of help shape. But do this and then if
16:21there's like an obvious gap, you can fill in with a pencil or a shadow or
16:27something. But this looks so much more natural than if you were to go in with a
16:31pencil first and fill in all those little gaps. Whoops. And then go with your
16:40gel. It's just gonna be a heavier look. It's gonna look more made up, which
16:46is fine. But for this, we want this to be very natural looking brow, you know. And I
16:54don't really need much. I don't really have... My brows are just thin naturally.
17:00So there's not many like holes in my brow. Nothing I really have to pencil in.
17:09There's a couple areas that I might want to touch on but nothing major. Brows, you
17:16always want to get a little distance. So I'm looking at a big mirror. I'm looking
17:19at a magnifying mirror. Well, not a magnifying, a closer mirror. I'm looking in my camera
17:25because it helps me to see all the vantage points without going, getting too
17:32far gone. But yeah, trying to see in here, trying to see in here. Make sure that
17:38they're even. All right. Okay, let me show you the final look after I change. But
17:46also, I'm gonna just kind of... I have a little mascara. Smudge that right off at
17:54these little areas. See how easy that was? Didn't smear all over. Okay, let me put an
18:01outfit on and I'll be right back. Okay, finished. This is the look. Very, very natural
18:09skin finish. But it looks luminous. It looks radiant and healthy. It doesn't
18:15look overdone. You see how there's different tones happening on my face
18:19still? I have pink along my nose and my cheek. There's a little hint of it on the
18:25eye. The eyes are super soft, natural, pretty. But they look bright. They look
18:31awake. My eyelashes are standing out. My eyes are standing out a little bit more.
18:36They just look pretty. And then, you know, the cheek and the lip are the
18:41same color, tone. Brows are natural. So that's it. What do you think? Would you
18:50try this? Do you like this? Is this how you do your makeup? Let me know in the
18:53comments.
