AccuWeather's Ali Reid reports live from Tampa, Florida, as Tropical Storm Debby moves closer to the Florida coastline on August 4.
Transcript
00:00We are live along the river walk here in Tampa.
00:03Here's the beautiful water.
00:05Not so much slow moving, not so much fast moving.
00:08Kind of somewhere in between right now.
00:10And throughout the day we've been seeing a mix of a couple of different things.
00:13We've seen the heavy rain. We've seen the strong winds.
00:16And in between all of that we've gotten a number of lulls as well.
00:20But that is a sign that Tropical Storm Debbie is certainly on the way.
00:24Now I want to take to some video for you as well.
00:27Photographer Andy and I, we were live or getting some video over in St. Petersburg earlier today.
00:33Now with that we were in the Shore Acres neighborhood.
00:36Which is considered the lowest lying neighborhood in St. Petersburg.
00:40Now this time last year, if you remember Hurricane Idalia.
00:431,400 homes were destroyed and damaged in that area.
00:48Now this time people were out sandbagging their homes.
00:51Really getting prepared for what they know is going to be a difficult area.
00:56As that area gets some pretty extreme flooding.
00:59So they are ready to say the least for Tropical Storm Debbie.
01:03Now bringing us back live to this area here in Tampa.
01:07It is quiet here right now.
01:09Not nearly as bad as what we're going to see probably in the northern parts of Cedar Key.
01:13And that is where we are going to be headed later on this evening.
01:17We're going to be making our way north to really get to that area.
01:20Which is expected to be the possible landfall for Debbie.
01:24We're going to continue to keep you updated.
01:26I'll be live every hour Ari.
01:28So we'll be sure to check in with you on the latest information.
01:31Ali, we appreciate you being out there for us and checking the sights and sounds.
01:35And we'll be checking back in with you in just under an hour.
