00:00Recibo in Barangays San Miguel
00:03filed a complaint against the family of JV
00:05according to them,
00:06there are two poachy farms
00:07that are possible to be exploited by fishermen.
00:11They are only 350 to 800 meters away
00:15from their place.
00:16What a short trip
00:17for the unwanted fishermen.
00:20They have three houses.
00:21One has an aircon.
00:23The other has a layer,
00:25just for heating.
00:26The other one is also open.
00:29Both parties were called.
00:31The complainant and the trusted representatives
00:35of each poachers.
00:38Then I told them
00:39that we can add spray
00:43to lessen the amount of fish.
00:47When they found out
00:48that the poachers did not comply
00:51as agreed.
00:52If they will not lessen
00:55the amount of fish,
00:57we can close it.
00:59The City Health Office of Barangay San Miguel
01:01sent a team
01:02to ask for help
01:03in the immediate inspection
01:05of these poachy farms in the barangay.
01:08We were instructed
01:09to join the inspection
01:10with the City Health Office,
01:12Business Permits and Licensing Division,
01:14Agricultural Zoning
01:16and Solid Waste Management
01:17of the Local Government
01:19of San Pablo City, Laguna.
01:20Three poachy farms
01:22are the target to be examined today.
01:28In the first poachy farm
01:31that we went to,
01:32there are no chickens in the area.
01:34But we saw
01:36that there are a few chickens.
01:39But we were wondering
01:40because there are no chickens
01:41because they harvested
01:43last first week of July.
01:45So, it's a bit of a conflict
01:49since we saw
01:50that it's okay
01:52but there are presence of chickens.
01:53Authorities also discovered
01:55that the poachery has been declared
01:57as a no-operation permit
01:59since 2020.
02:00And surprise!
02:02The chickens are still operating.
02:05That's why...
02:06We will ask the City Treasurer
02:08to review
02:09if they operated
02:11in 2023 or 2022.
02:14We will ask them
02:15to open their book of accounts.
02:19As we continue
02:21our investigation,
02:23We can inspect
02:27but only in the middle of July.
02:30According to the initial examination
02:33of the local government,
02:34most of the poachers
02:36can be found in the second farm.
02:38There's a foul smell.
02:40You can smell it from the gate
02:42and there are a lot of poachers.
02:44It's not a poultry farm
02:45but an egg-layering farm.
02:47The situation there is not good.
02:50They need to spray
02:53to mitigate the foul smell
02:56and the swarms of poachers.
03:00But
03:01according to the farmer
03:02or the manager of the farm,
03:04Our farm is far from residential areas.
03:08And there is one farm
03:10that is closer
03:11to residential areas.
03:13And that's the broiler farm.
03:15Which is normally
03:16the poachers.
03:18The swarms of poachers
03:20are now spreading
03:21to our houses
03:22and to our farm.
03:24Which is a perversion
03:26to us.
03:27Honestly.
03:28And sadly,
03:29we have been pinpointed
03:31in terms of the fly infestation.
03:34In addition,
03:35they are constantly cleaning
03:37their egg-layering farm.
03:39We are always asking
03:41every two weeks
03:42we have a third-party pest control
03:45that we collect and pay
03:47to maintain the proper sanitation
03:50in our area.
03:51We are trying our best also
03:53to eliminate the flies
03:55that, as I've said earlier,
03:57they are a nuisance to us.
03:59And for the last poacher farm,
04:01it was found without chicken.
04:04According to the caretaker of the farm,
04:06It was supposed to be scheduled.
04:09But it was postponed
04:10when the chicks were supplying
04:13because of the issue of swarms.
04:16A week after the inspection,
04:18the barangay called again
04:20along with the residents
04:21and the farm workers
04:23to agree that
04:24as long as there are no flies in the area,
04:27the first and third poachers
04:29will not be able to feed the chickens.
04:32The City Health Office also ordered
04:34the second farm to be cleaned.
04:36The local government
04:37will continue to focus on this issue
04:38especially when there is a risk
04:40to health
04:41and it should not be ignored
04:43and ignored.
