00:00Without objection, the gentleman was recognized for one minute.
00:04Mr. Speaker, I rise to demand the release of Wai Kwin Budap and Nguyen Thuy Han.
00:13Wai Kwin Budap is a Vietnamese activist religious minority who has lived as a refugee in Thailand
00:22since 2018, where he's pending extradition to communist Vietnam. He will likely face torture
00:32and lengthy prison time. This extradition would be a severe violation of human rights
00:40promises made by Thailand. Nguyen Thuy Han is a human rights activist currently imprisoned
00:49in Vietnam. Her detention is not only unjust but even more horrific as she is also undergoing
00:58chemotherapy for stage two cervical cancer. I call on U.S. and Thai diplomats to secure
01:06the release of these brave activists. I also call on Vietnamese government to stop trampling
01:14on the human rights of their own citizens. Thank you. I yield back.
