00:08John Beasley believes that he has a great experience
00:11in the valedictory of the O'Nee Villain race.
00:14Nine years ago, he was able to be the best example
00:16for Dato' Azizul Hasniawang
00:18to complete his mission in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
00:21He watched Azizul, who will be the first male athlete
00:24in the country to compete in five successive Olympics,
00:27to do his best in the UCI 2015 World Bicycle Track.
00:34The 40-kilometre-long velodrome in Paris
00:37presents a challenge for all racers
00:39in terms of the descent and distance of the track.
00:42The two elements will challenge each racer
00:44to do a transition process when racing together,
00:47requiring the most accurate strategy
00:49in accomplishing their respective missions.
00:54We've had success on this track.
00:56I think Azizul, a few years ago,
00:58got the bronze medal at Nicaragua.
01:00It's been quite a good track for us in the past.
01:05It's a fast track, steep transitions.
01:09It advantages the heavier cyclists for the Flying 200.
01:14I don't expect that we're going to be amongst the top handful,
01:18but we won't be far away.
01:20And then it comes down to racing.
01:24Racing, there's no advantage.
01:26But these steep transitions do favour the heavier cyclists.
01:30So, yeah, we're in good shape.
01:34I'm excited. I can't wait for race day to start
01:38just to see where we're at.
01:40Everyone's nice and relaxed, which is great.
01:43So, yeah, we can't wait for race day to come.
01:46In the race, Azizul received very little from the runner-up,
01:50Francois Favis from France,
01:52and Edward Rokins from New Zealand
01:54when he headed to the finish line.
01:56And this time, the pocket rocket man
01:58came back with a bigger mission,
02:00which is to win the first gold medal
02:03in the last races in the world's biggest race.
02:08Now, not so much.
02:10We've done a lot of video work together
02:13on our opponents, what we should do,
02:16when and where.
02:18So, yeah, but ultimately,
02:20you can go in with a lot of strategies,
02:22but they get thrown out the door
02:25if a different move takes place during the race.
02:28But he's got all the moves covered pretty well.
02:31So, yeah, look, I'm confident.
02:33The main thing is we keep him calm,
02:35which he is very calm,
02:37and he enjoys his last Olympics.
02:39Whether we can win that elusive gold or not,
02:42he's had a very distinguished career,
02:44and you know he's going to give you the best.
02:47So anyone that races against him
02:49is going to know they've raced him.
02:51And that's all we can ask of any Malaysian
02:53in any sport.
