Cinemalaya holding free 20 film screenings in August

00:04First up, in its 20th year, the Sinimalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival

00:09continues to provide filmmakers a platform for socially relevant storytelling

00:14and ensures equal access to cultural endeavors and inclusive art education for Filipinos.

00:21This year's festival features free and open-to-the-public films and cultural experiences

00:26including the opening film The Gospel of the Beast by Sharon Dayoc.

00:31Other highlights include Dito by Yuki Takashi starring Filipino actors and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao

00:39and a tribute to curator Teddy Ko with short films like City of Flowers.

00:44Digitally remastered screenings of Jose Rizal and Fernando Po Jr.'s Asedilio will also take place.
