00:00Gambit charging up Wolverine's claws.
00:02It's not a move we've really seen in the comics.
00:04I read that you were the one that thought it up.
00:06How did you come up with that sequence?
00:08Yeah, no, look, man, I'm still just flabbergasted
00:12on how well-received that little bit was.
00:16Totally candid.
00:17That was just me working on my storyboard pitch
00:19to try to get the job.
00:20And I just wanted to see stuff that I haven't seen before.
00:23And luckily, part of what I felt my mission statement was
00:29and what to bring to X-Men 97 was also in tandem
00:33with what Bode Mayo and the writers in Marvel
00:36and Brad and Dana, that's what they wanted too.
00:39And that was familiar mutant abilities
00:43and power sets that we've seen in love, right?
00:46But just in ways we've never seen them before
00:49without breaking canon.
00:50So yeah, that was just me having fun.
00:54Yeah, and then another moment in the trailer
00:57that I liked is when Cyclops says to me, my X-Men,
01:00a line that's popped up here and there
01:01in X-Men history over the years,
01:02though usually said by Professor X,
01:04why was it important to throw this line into the show?
01:08Well, luckily that decision to throw that line in
01:10was made well before I was brought on.
01:15That's been in just since the first levels
01:19of the incubation of the script from Bode himself.
01:24And it was, how could it not be perfect, right?
01:27The way he explained it to me,
01:28we're in a post-Xavier world.
01:30Cyclops is stepping up to the mantle right now.
01:32They are his X-Men in that moment.
01:34So what better reason to have our boy,
01:39our favorite boy Scout saying those things
01:41and all credit goes to Bode and the writers for that.
