00:14Uh, the Olympics cutting into this year.
00:16Uh, I, I've been somebody who's been kind of not all in on Olympics and golf.
00:21You know, I think the first two, uh, iterations we've had at it, you know,
00:25one starting in Brazil and then the other being in Tokyo, it never really
00:31got off to the hottest of starts.
00:32And then I think this year, finally, we saw what the Olympics in golf can be.
00:37Uh, you had players buy in, you had an awesome golf course, and then you had,
00:42you know, just, uh, finally getting some buzz around a place and the players
00:46buying in, it just felt like finally we had something that resembled, uh, you
00:52know, a major championship type of field.
00:54Felt like a fifth major, uh, this past Sunday was Scotty Sheffler being
00:59the guy ending up winning, uh, but crazy, you know, John Rahm, you wake
01:03up and he's at 20 under, he's got a four shot lead and all of a sudden
01:07Scotty Sheffler just kind of works his way up the leaderboard and clipped.
01:12John Rahm by eight shots.
01:14Uh, actually, excuse me, 10 shots over the final eight holes, Scott,
01:18which is kind of hard to believe.
01:21I have never seen John Rahm melt down like an ice cream cone
01:25like that before in my life.
01:27He had four bogeys and a, and a double, I mean, Jesus, like that
01:33sounds like one of my rounds.
01:35Uh, I have never seen anything like a guy that good, but just
01:39absolutely collapsed like that.
01:42You know what?
01:42I think it's a little bit credit to the golf course.
01:45You know, this is a course that guys were taking it low, but also
01:49it was a course in which if you were a little off or you're a little
01:52tentative, you know, bogeys were, were around at this course.
01:56And, uh, you kind of saw it a little bit on the 12th hole with the chip shot.
02:00I felt like he was a little tentative on, and then just made a mental error
02:04at the 14th, a par five hole in which pretty much all the guys were birding.
02:08Uh, Scotty Sheffler got up and down from the left rough, same left rough
02:12that actually it took a couple extra shots for Rahm to get it in the hole
02:15and making a double bogey, like you said.
02:17So it was, uh, it was epic.
02:19I mean, Scotty Sheffler just has, uh, been incredible this year.
02:24Xander Shafi obviously winning two majors, but I think the player of the
02:27race, uh, player of the year race, in my opinion, uh, unless Xander just
02:32says something crazy at the playoffs.
02:34I feel like Scotty's done enough this year to, uh, walk that, uh, locked
02:39up player of the year at this point.
