00:00He comes down almost every single day.
00:04I love you. Oh my goodness gracious.
00:06He just comes down to hang out and jump on me.
00:09He likes to do flips on my arm.
00:15One of my best friends from high school called me
00:18and said that she had found a baby squirrel
00:21that had fallen out of a cut down tree.
00:24Immediately I go get it.
00:27He's so tiny.
00:29Every four hours we fed him.
00:33Morning, Fred.
00:35At that age, squirrels just sleep all day long.
00:42Quickly though, they start to get active.
00:51He's like doing back flips and front flips.
00:57Oh my.
01:01The goal was always to release him,
01:03but we were always kind of worried about
01:05if he was going to be okay.
01:11But like the second he started getting active
01:13and climbing around,
01:15it was like the instincts kicked in.
01:17Frederick, what are you doing?
01:19What do you think you're doing down there?
01:22And we were like, oh, he's going to be just fine.
01:26Around like three months, I think we knew
01:28we were going to let him go soon.
01:32One day we just walked outside
01:34and let him climb up the pecan tree in the backyard
01:37and he was like, all right, sweet, I'm good
01:40and just ran off.
01:42Look at you go, boogie.
01:44Wow.
01:46Sure enough, he showed back up.
01:48Yay.
01:51Hi.
01:54I love you, boogie.
01:57I love you.
01:59In the very beginning, he would come multiple times a day.
02:02There were a couple times where he would come up
02:05to the sliding glass door.
02:07What are you doing?
02:09Hi, monkey, I love you.
02:11Good morning. I'll come out there, okay?
02:13I'll come out there.
02:16Nobody better be out here bullying my little baby.
02:19It was really hot this summer
02:21and he would come up to the sliding glass door
02:23and be like, hey, can I come back in there?
02:27I still was like giving him nuts
02:29and setting food out for him.
02:31That's not funny.
02:33I love you.
02:34But as soon as the first day of fall hit
02:36that he was like cool enough
02:38and he was like hoarding nuts like crazy,
02:40it was like, where are you taking that?
02:43I don't need your help anymore.
02:45I've got it figured out.
02:47And now he just comes down to hang out with me,
02:49which is super fun.
02:51There you are, boogie, yeah.
02:53You can tell he really loves Allie
02:55and wants to play with her
02:57and not just go to her for food.
02:59He's definitely a wild animal,
03:01but he chooses to come back down
03:03and jump on me or wants me to flip him
03:06or scratch him or whatever,
03:08which I think is so cute.
03:13I love you.
