00:14Tansi KCM is talking about salary cuts.
00:18Yes, that's right.
00:20In the next few weeks, I will announce several rough rules
00:23that will prove that in the history of Malaysia,
00:27even though there are some opponents who have never been grateful
00:34and never want to accept the reality,
00:36but believe me when I announce it later,
00:39partly in August,
00:42and then completely, as I promised,
00:46in October, state expenditure,
00:49and implemented from 1 December.
00:52What is this scheme for public officials?
00:54That is the highest salary increase in the history of the country since independence.
01:03There are two reasons.
01:05First, the country is developing.
01:08But for 12 years, there has been no comprehensive salary increase.
01:1312 years.
01:15Second,
01:17because they have acknowledged their role
01:21so far.
01:22The government has changed.
01:24The Prime Minister has changed.
01:26So public officials have a professional duty
01:30to implement this policy.
01:32Third,
01:33the important thing is,
01:35with this salary cut,
01:37we want to serve the people
01:41far better than the salary they give.
01:45God willing, we can do this.
01:48I am sure, God willing.
01:50God willing, our goal is better.
01:52What do we deny?
01:54Earlier, there was a meeting of the Ministry of Finance,
01:56a monthly meeting,
01:57I emphasized,
01:58we do not deny.
02:00Talking to people in
02:02Mysore,
02:04and in Turazak,
02:06and in cities,
02:07in villages,
02:09they are still facing problems,
02:12which is the cost of living.
02:14So we do not deny.
02:16That is why in our spending strategy,
02:19and in our economic plan,
02:22we do not put it aside.
02:24Just do not,
02:26use it,
02:28to deny all goodness,
02:30and to deny that
02:32the price of sugar,
02:33crude oil,
02:34oil,
02:38in Malaysia,
02:40is much lower than in Singapore,
02:42I understand.
02:43In Thailand,
02:44it is lower than in Indonesia.
02:46This is a reality that cannot be denied.
02:49So, in the meantime,
02:51we try as much as we can.
02:54The Ministry of Finance knows,
02:55the Ministry of Finance knows,
02:56we avoid waste.
02:58Let it be simple.
03:01The salary of the Minister of Finance is cut,
03:04even though the salary of public officials will be increased.
03:07The Minister of Finance does not take salary.
03:10Because I want to show that
03:12not everyone
03:14has that position.
03:16His job,
03:17is only to collect people's money.
03:20If it is salary,
03:21it is their right,
03:22but we have to be firm,
03:25against,
03:26the practice of corruption and fraud,
03:28because this is what causes the cost to rise.
