00:06of the 125th anniversary is this photographic exhibition that we've got here at the Ravelin
00:12Sports Centre at the University of Portsmouth. It's going to be here between August the 5th today
00:17and Sunday August the 18th and we have got a marvellous set of photographs here that span
00:23125 years of Pompey history from the early days of a photographer called Stephen Cribb who ended
00:29up being a Pompey director through the great kind of press photographers of the 50s and 60s
00:34capturing moments like Pompey winning the league and the 1939 cup final into the 1960s and 70s
00:41with stars like Ray Hiron and David Kemp through to the kind of 1980s where an ex-news photographer
00:48Murray Sanders has got a couple of photographs in this exhibition. A bit later in the 90s Steve
00:54Reid another news snapper he's got some great pictures in there as well but then bringing
00:58up to date last season Jason Brown the club photographer and he got some pictures in the
01:02news as well he's done some marvellous kind of action images from last season of both the men's
01:07and women's team. We're also very privileged to have Stuart Roy Clark who's one of the foremost
01:13documentary photographers in England. He came down and did the last game of the season the
01:19Ant Wigan and we've got some of his kind of like images over there exclusive ones of the club but
01:24last but not least we've got a retrospective of a great local born Pompey photographer in
01:30Pete Blackman who sadly died last October but we had the chance to talk to him beforehand about
01:36getting this exhibition together and I'm delighted that we've got kind of like 32 of his images in
01:42here some of which you can kind of see behind you here which capture his kind of like gritty
01:48fan first style in terms of like what we do. So it's a tribute exhibition it's here for a fortnight
01:54if you buy a catalogue online or you can buy them in the Pompey store or in the museum across
02:02the road from the exhibition. The proceeds for that are supporting the Roy Cancer Lung Foundation
02:07so do make sure you grab yourself a couple of as well it's got all the images in but really come
02:12along and enjoy just a fabulous kind of collection of photographs that we've done in partnership with
02:17the University of Portsmouth, Arts Council England, the Pompey Supporters Trust and the Pompey History
02:22Society. You won't want to miss it. Hi I'm Steve Reid, I'm a former photographer at the
