00:00Hi, I'm Tom Roberts and I'm the founder and artist of 138 Art.
00:04Brilliant, so tell me what you've kind of created.
00:09So I've created 12 different Pokemon that I've put around Gosport, all three locations.
00:16We're running a scavenger hunt throughout the entire of August for anyone to go out, identify the Pokemon, find the location
00:24and once you've found all 12, submit them through my website and you could be in with a chance of winning a free original hand piece made of art.
00:32Fabulous, why did you want to do this?
00:34I just wanted to give something back to the community, I understand how expensive it is to go out and especially over the summer holidays.
00:42I just wanted to give something a bit more fun for the residents of Gosport but also get them out and about and find new locations.
00:50We've got them all scattered around Gosport so it's a wide variety of locations and people to explore.
00:57And what do you think the kids will get out of it and families?
01:01The families hopefully will get to a, discover Gosport and get to know their surroundings.
01:07I've had so many messages already saying I've never been to this place and it's been really interesting to see how diverse people's perceptions of Gosport has been.
01:17Also just saying a bit of fun, just a bit of fun for the kids and getting them out there.
01:21So tell me a little bit more about 13A Art.
01:25So I'm a mixed media artist, specialised mainly in spray paint, acrylics, pens, whatever you kind of name it.
01:34I create art, mostly stencils but hand painted and just yeah, just being out there.
01:44And how long have you been doing it for?
01:46I've been doing this for, mainly for about a year with the spray paints.
01:50Before that I was doing digital art and photography so I've kind of moved on to more of a physical art and getting my stuff out there.
01:59For me, life and art go side by side.
02:04Life to me is imperfect and so should art be.
02:07You have a brush stroke that isn't in the right place, that's fine.
02:12In life things aren't exactly going in a straight line and you divert and you change and that's what I love about art.
02:18It doesn't matter where you go wrong, you can always kind of come back and change it and move forward.
02:24It's a way of expressing yourself without having to explain what the final destination is.
02:32It's all part of the journey.
