00:00A fire broke out in Pasong Tamo, California, early this morning.

00:08A man was trapped in his burning house.

00:11His neighbors helped him escape.

00:14James Agustin has the first news.

00:20Residents tried to stop the fire to save a man from his burning house.

00:30When the gate was opened, they immediately took out the man.

00:40A few seconds later, they saw how the house was completely engulfed by fire.

00:47It happened in Krami Street, Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City,

00:50past 2 o'clock in the early morning earlier.

00:52The first alarm was set on the Bureau of Fire Protection.

00:55There were 10 firetrucks responding, as well as fire volunteer groups.

01:03The first responder, 59-year-old Francis De Los Reyes, was immediately rescued.

01:09He was hit in the right arm, left arm and head.

01:13He is very thankful to the residents who helped him escape from the house.

01:18Earlier, I was sleeping in my house in Meso Pa.

01:21When I woke up, there was a fire inside.

01:24I was shaking. I was pouring water. I couldn't pour it.

01:28The fire was getting bigger and bigger.

01:31People were shouting. I tried to open the gate.

01:34I couldn't open it. I pushed it and it was opened.

01:36That's why I was able to escape.

01:38James and John are among the people who helped Francis.

01:42They can be seen in the video where the gate was forced to be opened.

01:45We opened the gate. We closed it.

01:48It was padlocked. We couldn't break it.

01:50That's why we did it. We tied it with a rope.

01:54All of us helped to open it.

01:56We were shocked. It was smoking here.

01:59We ran here. We were shocked. The fire was strong.

02:04It took 18 minutes for the fire to burn out.

02:07The BFP is still investigating the fire.
