00:00Milo's obsessed with him.
00:06They groom each other, they kiss.
00:22Milo tries to cuddle, which seems like he's squashing him.
00:27Sometimes I'm like, should I stop him? But I look at Cracker and he just does not care.
00:36It was 2020, Milo was on a walk and he heard this injured bird, so he brought him home.
00:47You could tell he was quite shaken up by whatever he'd gone through.
00:52When Cracker was out there, Milo refused to come inside.
00:57Once we realized he could fly, we would leave Cracker on top of his cage because we wanted him
01:03to be free. But he just never left. He'd go down to the bottom of the cage and be face to face with
01:10Milo. It all seemed quite loving until one day he finally came down to the ground. It just started
01:17like that. If I'm honest, Cracker is the boss and Milo is the little one in Cracker's eyes.
01:24Cracker is a bit annoying. He gets a bit up in your personal space,
01:28so Milo would get annoyed sometimes.
01:36He hates my dad, which is sad and funny.
01:39He follows him around the house and like attacks his ankles.
01:46This one day he got startled by other birds and he flew off.
01:53We felt very bittersweet because we wanted him to be free,
01:58but at the same time he'd become part of our family. Milo was devastated.
02:06Two weeks went by and we saw a Facebook post. A philologist found two suburbs over from mine.
02:12I was kind of like, no, it's too good to be true.
02:14If this is the bird that has become best friends with my dog, that is just
02:18insane. The only way we'd be able to fully tell if that was Cracker is if we brought Milo in.
02:24He couldn't believe that his friend was back. It was just the cutest thing.
02:36Milo would not stop smiling. He'd just smile from ear to ear.
02:47I have recently written and illustrated a children's book about the story of Cracker and Milo.
02:54The purpose of the book is just accepting friends,
02:57no matter how different they may be. They're just like the best of friends.
