00:16Enz Abubakara, a nurse from Zamboanga City, has been a member of the Philippine Coast Guard for more than 2 years.

00:23But this March, he was assigned to Pag-asa Island, Calayaan, Palawan to be a part of the medical team.

00:31He is far from Zamboanga City, but this was not a barrier for him to fulfill his duty.

00:38We are happy to be able to help the community here, far from the city.

00:45It's a simple thank you to them for giving us peace of mind.

00:51We are not saddened that we were able to come here.

00:55Nurse Enz is just one of the members of the medical team in Pag-asa Island.

01:00They are eager to provide high-quality services to the residents of the island.

01:05The Rural Health Unit has two branches.

01:08It has oxygen tanks, hospital beds, wheelchairs, louis, medicines, vaccines, and emergency kit.

01:16But because of the limited use, only minor cases can be serviced.

01:21Because of this, they conduct tele-consultation from specialists in Puerto Princesa.

01:29But if it's a major case, the Philippine Air Force is concerned about the medical evacuation to Puerto Princesa.

01:36According to the RHU, more than 100 patients were diagnosed last June.

01:42But this is lower than more than 70 this July.

01:45Most of them are undergoing check-ups for blood pressure, fever, cough, and cough, and have been bitten by animals.

01:53I hope they can support the freedom here in Pag-asa Island.

01:57I hope they can improve the quality of life here to accommodate the needs of the community.

02:07The medical team also includes the barangay health worker, Milenia Greganda, and the municipal health unit staff, Berlin Buñaga.
